Job Description

About the Role

The Vendor Operations Specialist II role is an exciting opportunity to join Liberty Mutual's US Retail Markets team, supporting the Agency Distribution Solutions (ADS) team. In this position, you will play a key role in coordinating vendor activities, resolving complex issues, and driving process improvements. As a specialist, you will work closely with the Manager of Vendor Operations and other stakeholders to ensure seamless vendor operations and excellent service delivery.

The ADS team is responsible for supporting critical operations, finance, and strategy work for Comparion Insurance Agency and Liberty Mutual Insurance Agency (LMIA). With a network of over 1,500 local agents and multiple office locations, this role offers a unique chance to work with a large and diverse vendor base. Your expertise in digital operations and agency management will be invaluable in driving success in this role.

As a key member of the team, you will be expected to work under general direction, taking ownership of complex tasks and providing day-to-day support to vendors and business partners. Your analytical and problem-solving skills will be essential in identifying vendor performance trends, researching and resolving issues, and providing recommendations for process improvements.

What You Will Do

  • Answer vendor-related questions on systems, processes, technology, and procedures
  • Research and resolve issues of medium complexity, escalating to the Manager of Vendor Operations as needed
  • Perform research and data analysis to report on key vendor metrics and present findings to vendors and/or team leadership
  • Responsible for assigned contractors' delivery of work, including quality, timeliness, and other service level agreements
  • Work with vendors to address and resolve critical issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to service
  • Facilitate trainings for vendors on new or updated processes, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal downtime
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, ensuring excellent service delivery and resolving issues promptly
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, applying this knowledge to drive process improvements and optimize vendor operations

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/training in a related field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in vendor operations, digital operations, or a related field
  • Moderate communication (oral and written) skills to effectively communicate with internal partners and external vendors
  • Strong research, problem-solving, analytical, relationship management, and critical thinking skills
  • Solid understanding of business operations, with experience in agency management systems or working with multiple carriers
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in coordinating multiple stakeholders and vendors
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, with proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment, with strong time management and organizational skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in the insurance industry, with knowledge of insurance products and services
  • Familiarity with digital distribution channels and e-commerce platforms
  • Certification in a related field, such as supply chain management or operations management
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Knowledge of IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL
