About the Role
The Vice President of Engineering at Lastpass is a senior technology leader responsible for defining and executing the engineering strategy that powers the company's product portfolio. This role oversees the design, development, and delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure products that meet customer needs and drive business growth. The successful candidate will lead a global team of engineers, architects, and technical leaders, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment with business objectives and priorities.As a key member of the leadership team, the VP of Engineering will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and will partner closely with peers across the company, including Product, Customer Success, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Business Technology, and HR. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and leadership skills, as well as the ability to drive innovation and growth in a rapidly evolving industry.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with Product Management to translate the product roadmap into actionable Engineering deliverables
- Align Engineering strategy with long-term business objectives, ensuring technology investments deliver measurable value and competitive advantage
- Proactively monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings to inform strategic decisions
- Oversee end-to-end software development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards
- Manage prioritization and escalation of Engineering deliverables to ensure alignment with business objectives and timely resolution of critical issues
- Ensure adherence to compliance regulations across all engineering activities
- Lead the roll-out of AI-driven software development to enhance efficiency, code quality, and innovation
- Champion innovation, and continuous improvement in both the technology stack and development processes
- Mentor a high-performing Engineering organization, while cultivating the next generation of leaders
What We Are Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on leadership and strategy
- Strong technical skills, with expertise in areas such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity
- Proven track record of driving technical excellence and leading high-performing teams
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner with cross-functional teams
- Strong understanding of business objectives and the ability to align engineering strategies with company goals
- Experience with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
Nice to Have
- Experience with password and identity management solutions
- Familiarity with Excel and other productivity tools
- Certification in engineering or a related field
