About the Role
The Vice President of Operations is a crucial leadership position at Avery Dennison's Vestcom business, responsible for providing strategic direction and vision to the operations functions and customer experience teams. This role is integral to driving excellence across the operations organization, with a focus on delivering high-quality products on time. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving business growth, improving operational efficiency, and fostering a culture of safety and employee engagement.As a key member of the Vestcom leadership team, the Vice President of Operations will represent the operations, supply chain, machine group, and customer experience functions. This role will report directly to the VP & General Manager of Vestcom and will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of operational strategies that align with the company's overall goals and objectives.
The Vice President of Operations will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive business results, improve customer satisfaction, and identify opportunities for growth and innovation. This role requires a strong understanding of operational management, supply chain optimization, and team leadership, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
What You Will Do
- Develop and implement operational strategies to drive business growth and improve efficiency
- Provide leadership and direction to the operations team, including supply chain, machine group, and customer experience functions
- Drive the development and implementation of operational initiatives to improve quality, service, and safety
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for growth and innovation
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive business results
- Lead the development and implementation of operational budgets and forecasts
- Drive the identification and mitigation of operational risks and opportunities
- Develop and implement training programs to improve operational skills and knowledge
- Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement company-wide strategies and initiatives
- Drive the development and implementation of operational metrics and KPIs to measure performance
What We Are Looking For
- 12+ years of operations experience, including site management and management of multi-functional and organizational initiatives
- A four-year college degree in Business Administration or a related field
- Proven track record of driving business growth and improving operational efficiency
- Strong understanding of operational management, supply chain optimization, and team leadership
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with operational metrics and KPIs, including financial, quality, and service metrics
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and procedures
Nice to Have
- Experience with lean manufacturing and six sigma methodologies
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards, such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
- Experience with operational software systems, such as ERP and CRM
- Certification in operations management, such as a CMRP or CSCP
