About the Role
The Vice President of Operations plays a critical role in leading and optimizing practice operations, driving sustainable growth, and ensuring operational excellence across all regions. This position requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of operational management, strategic leadership, and team development. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a quarterly practice visit plan, attending bi-weekly site visits, and leading direct reports to maximize growth and financial performance.As a key member of the Specialty1 Partners team, the VP of Operations will work closely with the SVP of Operations, COO, and Finance teams to drive business growth and ensure operational excellence. This role requires a strong leader who can build trust with partner and associate doctors, drive strategic initiatives, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
The VP of Operations will be responsible for overseeing the onboarding and off-boarding processes for associates, including growth planning, associate-to-partner model design, and ensuring practice support during transitions. This role also involves mentoring and developing Regional Directors of Operations (RDOs) through regular 1:1s, individual development plans, and realigning and expanding the RDO team as needed.
What You Will Do
- Develop and execute a quarterly practice visit plan to engage with practices and drive growth
- Attend bi-weekly site visits to build strong and trusting relationships with partner and associate doctors
- Lead direct reports by example to maximize growth and financial performance
- Oversee onboarding and off-boarding processes for associates, including growth planning and practice support
- Mentor and develop Regional Directors of Operations (RDOs) through regular 1:1s and individual development plans
- Realign and expand the RDO team as needed to drive organic and M&A growth
- Conduct monthly operational reviews (MORs) with RDOs to create and monitor SMART action plans
- Prepare quarterly business reviews (QBRs) for SVP, COO, and Finance, covering achievements, challenges, and growth strategies
- Identify and resolve operational inefficiencies in practices, improving production and margins
- Collaborate with corporate support department heads on strategic initiatives like doctor recruiting, marketing, and practice transitions
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in operational management, preferably in the healthcare sector
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to build trust and drive strategic initiatives
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Experience with Excel and other operational management tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve operational inefficiencies
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field
- Experience with practice management systems (PMS) and electronic health records (EHRs)
Nice to Have
- Experience with doctor recruiting, marketing, and practice transitions
- Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in the healthcare sector
