About the Role

The Vice President of Operations plays a pivotal role in driving the success of Specialty1 Partners, a leading practice services organization dedicated to supporting specialty dental practices. This senior leadership position requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in operational excellence, team leadership, and strategic growth management. As a key member of the executive team, the Vice President of Operations will be responsible for leading and optimizing practice operations, ensuring sustainable growth, and driving operational excellence across all regions.

The ideal candidate will possess strong strategic relationship-building skills, with the ability to foster strong and trusting relationships with partner and associate doctors. This role will also involve leading and mentoring Regional Directors of Operations, providing guidance and support to ensure the success of the team. With a strong focus on operational excellence, the Vice President of Operations will be responsible for identifying and resolving operational inefficiencies, improving production and margins, and ensuring compliance with policies and SOPs.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute a quarterly practice visit plan, attending bi-weekly site visits to engage with practices and lead direct reports by example
  • Build strong and trusting relationships with partner and associate doctors, sharing Specialty1 Partners' vision and strategic goals
  • Oversee onboarding and off-boarding processes for associates, including growth planning, associate-to-partner model design, and ensuring practice support during transitions
  • Coordinate and resolve payroll issues with the SVP, HR, and Payroll teams
  • Mentor and develop Regional Directors of Operations through regular 1:1s, with individual development plans for growth
  • Realign and expand the RDO team as needed to drive organic and M&A growth and manage regional budgets effectively
  • Conduct monthly operational reviews with RDOs to create and monitor SMART action plans that support EBITDA optimization
  • Prepare quarterly business reviews for the SVP, COO, and Finance, covering achievements, challenges, and growth strategies
  • Identify and resolve operational inefficiencies in practices, improving production and margins
  • Collaborate with corporate support department heads on strategic initiatives like doctor recruiting, marketing, practice transitions, procurement, technology, compliance, and FP&A

  • Experience in leading and mentoring high-performing teams, with a focus on talent development and growth
  • Strong understanding of the dental industry, with a focus on specialty dental practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve operational inefficiencies
  • Experience with practice management systems, including scheduling, insurance verification, and payment collections
  • Strong understanding of financial management principles, including budgeting and forecasting

  • Experience with M&A growth and integration
  • Knowledge of call center and telephone configurations to ensure patients are being seen in the most immediate manner
  • Experience with revenue cycle management and optimization
  • Certification in a relevant field, such as operations management or healthcare administration
