## About the Role
The Vice President of Paid Media at Directive is a senior leadership role that oversees the development and execution of paid media, programmatic, and creative strategies across multiple client accounts. This role is responsible for driving commercial growth, developing high-performing teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality work that meets client needs. As a leader of leaders, the Vice President of Paid Media is responsible for developing Associate Directors into strong operators and quality owners. This includes establishing clear operating cadences, coaching on evaluation and feedback, calibrating quality standards, and holding Associate Directors accountable for client health and delivery quality.
The paid media landscape is rapidly evolving, with new technologies and platforms emerging all the time. As such, the Vice President of Paid Media must stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments, and be able to apply this knowledge to drive innovation and growth across the organization.
## What You Will Do
- Inspect work at critical points in the client lifecycle, including sales-to-ops handoff, kickoff, project phase, NSM setting, weekly updates, monthly updates, QBRs, and 6-month strategy reviews
- Define and reinforce quality standards across teams, ensuring consistency and excellence in all aspects of paid media, programmatic, and creative work
- Develop and execute strategies to drive commercial growth, including managing pricing, staffing, and resourcing decisions, monitoring client health, and proactively addressing risks
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior client stakeholders, participating in key meetings and acting as an escalation point when needed
- Lead and develop a team of Associate Directors, providing coaching, guidance, and support to help them achieve their goals and objectives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Performance, Creative, and People Operations, to drive integration and alignment across the organization
- Establish and maintain working fluency across all three pillars of paid media, programmatic, and creative, ensuring a deep understanding of each discipline and the ability to apply this knowledge to drive growth and innovation
- Contribute to broader Performance leadership discussions, providing input and insight on key issues and initiatives
- Maintain visibility into strategist performance and growth, partnering with People Operations on hiring and development to build a pipeline of future leadership talent
- Develop and manage a ~
5M P&L, focusing on client goal attainment, net revenue retention, gross profit margin, and monthly recurring revenue retention
## What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in paid media, programmatic, or creative, with a proven track record of driving commercial growth and developing high-performing teams
- Strong understanding of paid media, programmatic, and creative principles, including strategy development, campaign execution, and performance optimization
- Experience with programmatic advertising, including platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and Amazon Ads
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to develop and motivate teams, and drive results through others
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends and insights, and develop strategic recommendations
- Experience with data analysis and performance optimization, including tools such as Google Analytics, Excel, and SQL
- Strong business acumen, with a deep understanding of the paid media ecosystem and the ability to drive commercial growth and innovation
## Nice to Have
- Experience with creative strategy development and execution, including video, social, and display advertising
- Strong understanding of marketing automation and CRM systems, including platforms such as Marketo, Salesforce, and HubSpot
- Experience with agile project management methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in languages such as Python, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS
