About the Role

The Vice President, Payer Contracting plays a critical role in shaping Aledade's commercial strategy, negotiating value-based care contracts with national and regional health plans. This position requires a unique blend of business acumen, industry expertise, and leadership skills. As a key member of the executive team, the Vice President will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and improve healthcare outcomes. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the commercial insurance landscape, including trends, challenges, and opportunities. They will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive contracting strategy that aligns with Aledade's business objectives. What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive contracting strategy for Aledade's commercial business
  • Negotiate and manage value-based care contracts with national and regional health plans
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and improve healthcare outcomes
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to internal stakeholders on contracting and commercial issues
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including health plans, providers, and industry partners
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity to inform business strategy
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with commercial contracting
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business planning
  • Hire, train, and manage a team of contracting professionals

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business, healthcare administration, or law
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in health plans or payer contracting within value-based care
  • 7+ years of experience managing and leading teams
  • Deep knowledge of commercially insured populations and the commercial insurance landscape
  • Results-oriented with the ability to exercise influence to achieve goals
  • Proven track record of creating, maintaining, and enhancing relationships with senior management and external stakeholders
  • Expertise in business development at the local and national level
  • Passion for driving the shift from fee-for-service to value-based care

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in a related field, such as business, healthcare administration, or law
  • Experience working with data analytics and contract management systems
  • Certification in a related field, such as healthcare administration or law
  • Experience working in a startup or high-growth company
