About the Role

The Vice President of People will design and drive an integrated, insights-driven talent strategy that connects every part of the employee experience. This leader will play a critical role in building a talent system that enables every leader and staff member to thrive in service of students and communities. As a key member of the People Operations team, you will work closely with the Senior Vice President to ensure that talent systems are clear, consistent, and built to scale.

The Vice President of People will be responsible for aligning the full talent lifecycle, including recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, Total Rewards, professional development, and offboarding. This will involve ensuring that systems support leaders and empower them to deliver meaningful results and thrive. The ideal candidate will be a strategic and systems-oriented leader who is energized by complexity, driven by impact, and committed to building a high-performing team.

The KIPP Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports KIPP public charter schools across the country. The foundation helps to develop outstanding educators to lead KIPP schools, provides tools and resources for excellent teaching and learning, promotes innovation, and facilitates the exchange of insights and ideas across KIPP and other public schools and organizations.

What You Will Do

  • Design and drive an integrated, insights-driven talent strategy that connects every part of the employee experience
  • Align the full talent lifecycle, including recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, Total Rewards, professional development, and offboarding
  • Ensure that talent systems are clear, consistent, and built to scale
  • Work closely with the Senior Vice President to develop and implement talent strategies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes and achieve organizational goals
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and metrics to measure talent strategy effectiveness
  • Identify and mitigate risks, and develop contingency plans as needed
  • Foster a culture of excellence, collective impact, and courageous action
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders

What We Are Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in talent management, HR, or a related field
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing talent strategies that drive business outcomes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with leaders and staff
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop insights-driven solutions
  • Experience with talent management systems, including HRIS, performance management, and recruitment platforms
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Commitment to the KIPP Foundation's mission and values

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in the education sector or a related field
  • Knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Certification in HR or a related field, such as SHRM or HRCI
