About the Role

The Vice President of People at KIPP Foundation plays a pivotal role in designing and driving an integrated talent strategy that connects every part of the employee experience. This leader will ensure that the organization's systems support leaders and empower them to deliver meaningful results and thrive. The role entails developing and implementing a comprehensive talent lifecycle approach, including recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, Total Rewards, professional development, and offboarding.

The Vice President of People will report to the Senior Vice President of People Operations and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align goals, leverage strengths, and build trust-based relationships. This position requires a strategic and systems-oriented leader who is energized by complexity and driven by impact.

What You Will Do

  • Design and drive an integrated, insights-driven talent strategy that connects every part of the employee experience
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive talent lifecycle approach, including recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, Total Rewards, professional development, and offboarding
  • Align the full talent lifecycle to ensure that systems support leaders and empower them to deliver meaningful results and thrive
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage strengths, build trust-based relationships, and drive outcomes
  • Provide clarity through simple, repeatable systems and goals that enable transformational outcomes
  • Foster a psychologically safe environment centered on trust and accountability where feedback is encouraged
  • Leverage data to reflect on progress, own setbacks, celebrate successes, and continuously improve to maximize impact
  • Ensure that talent systems are not only well-designed but deeply embedded, building the capacity of leaders to lead effectively and develop their teams
  • Drive courageous action, demonstrating an unwavering belief in students' potential and a commitment to addressing systemic inequities

What We Are Looking For

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in people operations, talent management, or a related field
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing comprehensive talent lifecycle approaches
  • Excellent Excel skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data
  • Strong understanding of talent management principles, including recruitment, performance management, and employee engagement
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, complex environment, with a proven ability to drive outcomes and achieve results
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships with cross-functional teams
  • A commitment to excellence, collective impact, and courageous action, with a passion for fostering inclusive environments

Nice to Have
