About the Role
The Vice President of People at KIPP Foundation is a critical leadership position that will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's talent strategy. This leader will be responsible for designing and driving an integrated talent strategy that connects every part of the employee experience, from attraction and onboarding to development, engagement, and retention. The role will report to the Senior Vice President of People Operations and will be part of a team that is committed to setting a high bar for excellence and strengthening leadership capacity.The KIPP Foundation is at a defining moment, with an opportunity to deepen its impact by building a talent system that enables every leader and staff member to thrive in service of students and communities. The Vice President of People will be a key player in bringing this vision to life, working closely with leaders across the organization to ensure that talent systems are clear, consistent, and built to scale.
What You Will Do
- Develop and implement a comprehensive talent strategy that aligns with the organization's mission and vision
- Lead the design and implementation of talent management systems, including recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, Total Rewards, professional development, and offboarding
- Collaborate with leaders across the organization to ensure that talent systems support leaders and empower them to deliver meaningful results and thrive
- Drive the development of outstanding educators and leaders, providing tools and resources for excellent teaching and learning
- Foster a culture of collective impact, courage, and excellence, with a focus on student-centric solutions
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including educators, community leaders, and other organizations
- Provide data-driven insights to inform talent strategy and drive business outcomes
- Lead and manage a team of talent professionals, providing coaching and development opportunities to ensure their success
- Collaborate with the Senior Vice President of People Operations to develop and implement strategic initiatives
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and excellence in talent management
What We Are Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in talent management, with a focus on strategic leadership and talent development
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with HR systems and tools
- Strong understanding of talent management principles and practices, with a focus on driving business outcomes
- Experience leading and managing high-performing teams, with a focus on coaching and development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders
- Commitment to the KIPP Foundation's mission and values, with a focus on student-centric solutions
- Experience working in the education sector, with a focus on charter schools or similar organizations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive data-driven insights
- Experience with change management and organizational development
Nice to Have
- Experience with talent management systems, such as Workday or BambooHR
- Certification in talent management, such as SHRM or HRCI
- Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
- Familiarity with the KIPP Foundation's systems and tools
