About the Role

Lokal is seeking a highly creative and skilled Video Editor to join its content team. What You Will Do

  • Implement engaging hooks, dynamic pacing, and a strong narrative rhythm to maximize viewer retention.
  • Tailor editing styles to suit platform-specific behaviors, such as fast cuts for Instagram and scroll-stopping openers for YouTube Shorts.
  • Enhance video quality through thoughtful color grading, text animations, transitions, and immersive sound design.
  • Collaborate closely with writers, designers, and creative leads to bring scripts and visual concepts to life.
  • Stay updated on current editing trends, meme formats, cultural references, and audio trends to keep content fresh and relatable.
  • Analyze ad performance metrics and apply learnings to improve edits for better click-through and completion rates.
  • Edit videos in the required languages, including Malayalam, ensuring linguistic accuracy, cultural relevance, and strong storytelling.
  • Develop and maintain a consistent visual style and tone across all video content.

What We Are Looking For

  • 1-2 years of experience in video editing for social media or digital content.
  • Proficiency in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or similar.
