Job Description

About the Role

The VN Clinical Instructor role at Distro is a part-time opportunity to teach and develop the next generation of vocational nurses. As a clinical instructor, you will be responsible for teaching assigned classes in a clinical setting, working closely with didactic and clinical faculty members to develop program standards and ensure the highest level of medical education. The clinical instructor will report to the Campus Director and Nursing Program Coordinator, working closely with other faculty members to achieve program goals and objectives. This is a collaborative and dynamic work environment, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and communication.

What You Will Do

  • Teach assigned classes in a clinical setting, developing and implementing lesson plans to achieve program objectives
  • Meet with didactic and clinical faculty members to discuss program development and standards
  • Support the Campus Director and Nursing Program Coordinator in organizing the program and implementing program standards
  • Maintain continuous knowledge of medical education and ensure the facility meets continuous medical education requirements
  • Develop and evaluate curriculum to ensure it is current and relevant to the medical field
  • Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to the development of the vocational nursing program
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to achieve program goals and objectives
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in medical education and incorporate new techniques and technologies into the curriculum
  • Evaluate student progress and provide feedback to support their development
  • Develop and implement assessment tools to measure student learning outcomes

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field
  • Current California active Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse license
  • Minimum of two years experience as a registered nurse or licensed vocational nurse within the last five years
  • Teaching experience in a state-approved registered nursing, vocational nursing, practical nursing, or psychiatric technician school within the last five years
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of medical education and the healthcare industry
  • Ability to develop and implement curriculum to achieve program objectives
  • Experience with digital tools and technologies, with the ability to incorporate these into the curriculum

  • Master's degree in nursing or a related field
  • Experience with online learning platforms and digital education tools
