About the Role
As a Voice AI Research Participant, you will play a crucial role in helping mercor improve the performance of their voice assistant technology. This contract position involves making phone calls to a voice assistant and providing feedback on your experience. You will be part of a team that is passionate about advancing AI research and developing innovative solutions.The role entails making 5 phone calls to a voice assistant over the course of approximately 1 week, addressing real-life questions and topics such as health, work, and learning. After each call, you will complete a short survey to provide feedback on your experience. Your input will be invaluable in helping to improve the voice assistant's performance and ensure that it is meeting the needs of users.
What You Will Do
- Make 5 phone calls to a voice assistant over the course of approximately 1 week
- Address real-life questions and topics such as health, work, and learning during the phone calls
- Complete a short survey after each call to provide feedback on your experience
- Ensure that calls last between 5-15 minutes and end naturally
- Share your feedback to help improve the voice assistant's performance
- Participate in the research study for approximately 2-3 hours per week
- Be willing to consent to call recording for evaluation purposes
- Provide honest and detailed feedback on your experience with the voice assistant
- Be comfortable speaking English and using a phone for communication
What We Are Looking For
- Must be 18+ years old and located in Rwanda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Ghana, or Nigeria
- Must be comfortable speaking English
- Must be willing to consent to call recording for evaluation purposes
- Must have a feature phone or a smartphone with a limited or no data plan
- Must have limited or no prior experience with AI assistants
- Must be willing to participate in the research study for approximately 2-3 hours per week
- Must be able to provide honest and detailed feedback on your experience

- Prior experience with voice assistants or AI technology
- Familiarity with the tech industry and current trends
- Strong communication and feedback skills
- Ability to work independently and participate in remote research studies
