About the Role

As a voluntary benefits consultant, you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and enrolling insureds in voluntary benefits programs. This role is pivotal in supporting local account management teams, ensuring that they have the necessary tools and expertise to provide comprehensive benefits solutions to clients. The day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with account teams, conducting needs assessments, and tailoring benefits programs that meet the unique requirements of each client.

What You Will Do

  • Provide expert guidance to local account management teams on the design, implementation, and enrollment of voluntary benefits programs.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand client requirements and tailor benefits programs accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective execution of benefits programs.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and new products in the voluntary benefits space.
  • Analyze data to assess the effectiveness of benefits programs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Present benefits programs to clients, highlighting the value proposition and key features.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and process improvements within the benefits department.
  • Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to support business development initiatives.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least three years of experience in an insurance agency or company, with a focus on employee benefits.
  • Proven project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Sales and marketing experience, preferably in the insurance or benefits industry.
  • Experience with voluntary benefits programs, including design, implementation, and enrollment.
  • Valid Insurance License (or the ability to obtain one within 90 days).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex benefits data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in benefits administration software and Microsoft Office applications.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with benefits administration platforms and software.
  • Knowledge of ERISA and other relevant regulations impacting employee benefits.
  • Certification in employee benefits, such as CEBS or GBA.
  • Experience in a consulting or advisory role, providing strategic benefits guidance to clients.
