About the Role

The VP GM East & Control role at Mast-Jägermeister US, Inc. is a high-profile position that requires a seasoned sales leader to drive the company's commercial strategy in the East region. As a key member of the commercial organization, the VP GM will be responsible for developing and executing the region's sales plan, managing distributor relationships, and leading a team of sales professionals. The VP GM will work closely with other function leaders to grow the company's brand portfolio, both on- and off-premise. This will involve partnering with distributors, negotiating sales agreements, and influencing the distributors' share of mind. The VP GM will also be responsible for hiring, coaching, and developing a team of top sales talent.

The company is looking for a results-driven professional who can drive sales growth, manage complex relationships, and lead a high-performing team. The VP GM will be expected to travel 30-40% of the time, so a strong ability to work remotely and manage a team from a distance is essential.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute the region's sales strategy, in collaboration with other function leaders
  • Partner with and influence distributor regional presidents to develop and grow the company's brand portfolio
  • Lead regional planning and negotiations with distributor partners
  • Maintain distributors' share of mind and continually evaluate their effectiveness
  • Drive awareness of annual strategic priorities and execute the sales plan for growing the company's brands in the region
  • Set strategies focused on key markets, both on- and off-premise
  • Track financial targets for the region, including volume, accounts sold, and cold equipment
  • Ensure effective communication of the plan to the organization and distributors
  • Develop and execute regional programs and commercial solutions to improve brand execution and image
  • Possess expert proficiency in pricing, profit, and brand economics
  • Educate others on these topics and provide ongoing coaching and feedback
  • Inspire and manage an effective leadership team for the region
  • Establish individual accountability through clear communication of expectations, goals, and KPIs
  • Continually upgrade the organization's talent pool through training, promotions from within, and attracting and selecting new talent

What We Are Looking For

  • 15+ years of experience in sales and marketing, preferably in the spirits and/or beverage industry
  • Demonstrated distributor relationship management, account management, and chain experience
  • Innovative and creative approach to expanding business and managing complex relationships
  • Leadership maturity and proven success in leading, developing, motivating, and training sales teams
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to share the vision and inspire others
  • Ability to formulate strategies and execute against them
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the spirits industry

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with data to drive business decisions and analyze ROI
  • Knowledge of the spirits market, including key accounts, competitors, trends, and consumer behavior
  • Experience with sales tools, such as VIP i-Dig and Karma
  • Certification in sales or marketing, such as a CMO or CSO designation
  • Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
