About the Role

The VP Paid Media at Kanahoma is a senior leadership position responsible for the strategic direction and performance of the company's paid media practice. This role entails leading a team of paid media specialists, driving year-over-year enrollment growth, and contributing to agency operations and new business development. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of programmatic advertising, a strong point of view on attribution, and the ability to translate that into a concrete roadmap for the practice.

As the senior-most paid media leader, this role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, technical expertise, and leadership skills. The VP Paid Media will be responsible for defining and evolving the paid media product, serving as the primary leadership layer for the full paid media team, and driving the integration of AI tools and emerging technologies.

What You Will Do

  • Own the paid media product, defining and evolving its strategy, standards, and vision in collaboration with the SVP, Marketing
  • Translate agency-level strategy into actionable paid media frameworks, processes, and playbooks, leveraging AI tools to accelerate development and improve consistency
  • Partner with the Accounts team on upsells and partner renewals, identifying and championing opportunities to expand Paid Media scope
  • Represent the Paid Media team in partner pitches and AOR conversations
  • Collaborate with the SVP, Marketing on SOW development, resource planning, and new business pipeline
  • Directly manage Sr. Directors and Directors of Paid Media, serving as the primary leadership layer for the full Paid Media team
  • Lead by example, taking ownership and executing with a sense of urgency
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top paid media talent, actively supporting hiring and onboarding across all levels of the team
  • Champion AI fluency across the team, ensuring all Paid Media team members are trained on and actively utilizing approved AI tools in their day-to-day workflows
  • Conduct weekly one-on-ones with direct reports and hold quarterly skip-level meetings with all Paid Media team members who are not direct reports
  • Set, track, and evaluate direct reports' annual and bi-annual goals, aligned with performance reviews

What We Are Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in paid media, with a focus on programmatic advertising
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing teams and driving year-over-year growth
  • Strong understanding of attribution and the ability to develop and implement effective attribution models
  • Experience with AI tools and emerging technologies, and the ability to integrate them into paid media campaigns
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop actionable insights
  • Experience with paid media platforms, including Google Ads and Facebook Ads
  • Strong understanding of the digital marketing landscape, including trends and best practices

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data management platforms (DMPs) and customer data platforms (CDPs)
  • Knowledge of machine learning and deep learning algorithms, and their application in paid media
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Certification in paid media, such as Google Ads or Facebook Blueprint
