About the Role

As a Wastewater Engineer / Project Manager at Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc, you will play a crucial role in managing wastewater infrastructure projects and teams. You will be responsible for developing creative solutions to complex wastewater treatment challenges and collaborating with multi-discipline teams to deliver innovative project solutions. The role entails working closely with engineers, designers, and other professionals to plan, design, and construct wastewater treatment, pumping, distribution, storage, or conveyance projects. You will also be responsible for maintaining close relationships with clients throughout the development of projects and after completion. What You Will Do

  • Manage wastewater infrastructure projects and project teams to support the planning, design, and construction of wastewater treatment, pumping, distribution, storage, or conveyance projects
  • Develop creative solutions to complex wastewater treatment challenges, working closely with engineers, designers, and other professionals
  • Collaborate with multi-discipline teams to deliver innovative project solutions
  • Maintain close relationships with clients throughout the development of projects and after completion
  • Manage and mentor junior-level staff
  • Coordinate with local authorities and stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations and standards
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and identify potential issues
  • Develop and manage project budgets and schedules
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless project execution

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, or a related field
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Florida or ability to obtain within six months of hire
  • Experience managing multi-discipline infrastructure projects
  • Experience in the design and construction of municipal, state, federal, or industrial wastewater treatment projects
  • Proven understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices
  • Solid knowledge of wastewater treatment systems, equipment, and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice to Have

  • Fifteen (15) + years of experience designing and/or managing water or wastewater treatment or conveyance projects
  • Knowledge of regional water or wastewater issues and familiarity with the municipal government client base
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools
