About the Role
The Web Developer position is a critical part of General Dynamics' team, focusing on the modernization of the Delivery Operations Information System (DOIS) for the United States Postal Service (USPS). This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining user interfaces for the DOIS modernization project, ensuring seamless and responsive web experiences. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating exceptional user experiences and driving innovation in web development.As part of the team, the Web Developer will collaborate with UX/UI designers, other developers, and business analysts to deliver high-quality web solutions. This role will also involve participating in Agile Scrum ceremonies and ensuring web applications are secure, performant, and scalable.
What You Will Do
- Develop and maintain responsive web applications using modern frameworks like Angular, React, or similar technologies
- Implement front-end solutions that are mobile responsive and compliant with Section 508 Accessibility standards
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate design prototypes into interactive and functional web pages
- Utilize AI tools such as GitHub Copilot to assist in code generation, refactoring, and optimization
- Ensure web applications are secure, performant, and scalable by following best practices and industry standards
- Integrate front-end components with back-end services via REST APIs and other data communication methods
- Conduct thorough testing of web applications to ensure cross-browser compatibility and device responsiveness
- Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews
- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end reporting solutions, leveraging full stack developer skills to integrate front-end visualization tools with back-end data processing and storage systems
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields, preferred
- 1+ years of experience in web development with a strong focus on responsive design required
- Proficiency in modern front-end frameworks and libraries such as Angular, React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Experience with AI tools, particularly GitHub Copilot, for code generation and optimization
- Familiarity with REST APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud technologies (AWS)
- Strong understanding of web security practices and standards
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with Version One Agile Lifecycle Management Tool
- Knowledge of Excel for data analysis and reporting
- Certification in web development or a related field
- Experience working in an Agile environment
