About the Role

What You Will Do

  • Perform routine maintenance on wind turbines, including but not limited to lubrication, filter changes, and bolt torque checks.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable pitch and variable speed turbines.
  • Collaborate with site leadership to execute contractual obligations and activities as set forth by customers.
  • Document all work performed using computer-based service reporting procedures.
  • Work with and respond to GE's remote operations center when necessary.
  • Conduct diagnostic electrical analysis to identify and resolve issues.
  • Assist in all areas of site operations as directed by the manager, with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality control measures.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to GE's standards.

What We Are Looking For

  • High School Diploma or GED, with a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Wind Technician or Wind Mechanic.
  • Alternatively, a minimum of 2 years of work experience inclusive of hydraulic, electrical, and experience using basic power hydraulic tools.
  • Passing a Technical Knowledge Assessment is required.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn specific software applications.
  • Ability and willingness to lift repetitive weights of up to 45 lbs. unassisted and climb towers of 300+ feet regularly.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Understand electrical schematic drawings, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a range of environments, including industrial facilities and power industry facilities.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shift schedules and on-call per site needs.

Nice to Have

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics field from an accredited college or university.
  • Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical/Electronic field.
  • Experience working with a wide variety of personnel at all levels inside and outside of the Wind Farm.
  • Ability and willingness to take initiative and work without direct supervision.
  • Electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic experience.
  • Experience using hydraulic power tools.
