About the Role

The Wind Hub Technician role at GE Vernova is a critical position that requires a blend of technical expertise and independence. As a key member of the wind site team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal function and output of turbines through daily operations, safety checks, and quality control. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of the wind farm, making your role vital to the success of the operation.

Day-to-day, you will collaborate closely with site and hub leadership to execute contractual obligations, perform maintenance and repairs, and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues. What You Will Do

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on wind turbines, including electrical and mechanical components.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues related to turbine operations, using diagnostic tools and analytical skills.
  • Collaborate with site leadership to ensure contractual obligations are met, focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Document all work performed using computer-based service reporting procedures.
  • Work with GE's remote operations center as necessary to resolve issues and share knowledge.
  • Assist in all areas of site operations as directed by your manager.
  • Observe and enforce all safety requirements to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and stay updated on the latest technologies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent on tasks.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and be available for occasional overnight shifts as required by site needs.

What We Are Looking For

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Wind Technician, Wind Mechanic, or related field.
  • Completion of a Wind Certificate Program or an Associate's Degree in Energy or a related technical field.
  • Basic computer skills, with proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to pass a Technical Knowledge Assessment.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally.
  • Physical ability to handle repetitive weight of up to 50 lbs. and climb towers up to 300 feet daily.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rotating shift schedules and on-call duties.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Nice to Have

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics field.
  • Technical Certification in Wind Energy or a related field.
  • Experience with hydraulic power tools and heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge of crane and rigging requirements.
  • Previous experience working with wind turbines or in a similar industry.
