Job Description

About the Role

The WMS Solutions Architect role at Kenco Group is a critical position that entails leading and performing the technical development for functional activities to maintain and enhance the company's Warehouse Management Systems. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for transforming business requirement documents into technical aspects of the system, providing primary user support, and ensuring the system provides the required business functions and maintains data integrity. You will work closely with the existing client base and new clients as assigned, communicating solution capabilities and assessing business needs across integration complexity and architecture constraints.

Day-to-day, you will be involved in a range of activities, from conducting system configuration for the WMS system to training employees on system and related device usage. You will also develop test cases and plans to complete unit testing and provide on-call support for production applications. Your expertise in warehouse management systems and your ability to work independently will be essential in driving projects forward and ensuring the success of the team.

What You Will Do

  • Communicate solution capabilities and possibilities to assess business needs across integration complexity and architecture constraints
  • Provide primary user support and verify that the system provides the required business functions and maintains data integrity
  • Lead business process analysis or design/construction phase of the project, leading to writing functional specifications
  • Formulate and define the application scope and objectives, devising or modifying procedures to solve complex business problems
  • Develop functional specifications for modifications, interfaces, reports, and screens that meet the customers' business objectives and are of sound design
  • Conduct system configuration for the WMS system
  • Train employees on system and related device usage
  • Develop test cases and plans to complete the unit testing
  • Provide on-call support for production applications
  • Monitor and configure application performance and improve response times
  • Serve as a functional liaison and attend and contribute to key meetings between Product Manager, key customer contacts, and customer users
  • Demonstrate and facilitate integration discussions of product functionality and product architecture

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience with Warehouse Management Systems
  • Experience with underlying WMS technologies, such as C#, Java, HTML, Groovy, Jasper, and/or other technology
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, vendors, users, customers, and peers
  • Logical presentation of issues and potential enhancements
  • Working knowledge and experience with EDI, including X12, EDIFACT, XML, JSON, or other formats
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Warehousing or Logistics Industry experience
  • Experience with formal project management practices
  • Knowledge of formal systems development methodologies and SDLC best practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Adjust and Excel
  • Certification in a relevant field, such as supply chain management or logistics
  • Experience working with a similar warehouse management system
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and process methodology
