About the Role

The Workday Accounting Center Manager position at Huron Consulting Services is a pivotal role that supports the delivery of Application Managed Services (AMS) for clients utilizing Workday Accounting Center and related Financials modules. This expert will serve as a hands-on leader in configuring Accounting Center, facilitating accounting integrations, overseeing reconciliation, and managing financial reporting in post-production environments. The successful candidate will partner closely with both clients and internal delivery teams to resolve issues, support enhancements, manage release impacts, and ensure the implementation of accurate, scalable, and compliant accounting solutions that support downstream financial processes.

What You Will Do

  • Provide functional expertise and hands-on leadership for Accounting Center configuration, focusing on accounting integrations, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to resolve issues, support enhancements, and manage release impacts, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption.
  • Develop and maintain accurate, scalable, and compliant accounting solutions that support downstream financial processes, including journal posting, reconciliation, and audit readiness.
  • Analyze accounting and business requirements, produce functional specifications, and support testing activities to ensure alignment with client needs and financial regulations.
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and partner directly with clients and finance stakeholders to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Support ongoing optimization, enhancements, and issue resolution as part of an Application Managed Services (AMS) or managed support model.
  • Design and support accounting integrations from source systems into Workday Accounting Center, ensuring data integrity and system efficiency.
  • Utilize Workday Prism Analytics (PRISM) to enable reporting and analytics in support of Accounting Center and Financials use cases, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Translate source system transactions and accounting rules into accurate, scalable Accounting Center configurations that support compliance and audit requirements.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing and best practice development within the team to continuously improve service delivery.

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience implementing or supporting Workday Accounting Center within Workday Financials, with hands-on configuration ownership in a production or post-production (AMS) environment.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a functional subject matter expert for Accounting Center, including accounting event configuration, journal generation, reconciliation, and downstream integration to the General Ledger.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday Prism Analytics (PRISM), including data ingestion, modeling, and enabling reporting and analytics in support of Accounting Center and Financials use cases.
  • Strong ability to translate source system transactions and accounting rules into accurate, scalable Accounting Center configurations that support compliance and audit requirements.
  • Experience analyzing accounting and business requirements, producing functional specifications, supporting testing activities, troubleshooting complex production issues, and partnering directly with clients and finance stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • No travel required, unless requested by the client.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel, including reconciliation, variance analysis, and data validation.

Nice to Have

  • Holds an active Workday Certification, with Workday Financial Management or Accounting Center certification strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience supporting Workday Accounting Center in AMS / PPS / Managed Services environments, including Tier 3 support.
  • Experience designing and supporting accounting integrations from source systems into Workday Accounting Center.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting processes, including journal posting, reconciliation, close support, and audit readiness.
  • Experience supporting medium to large-scale Workday Financials environments, including cross-module dependencies with General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll Accounting, and Projects.
