Job Description

About the Role

The Workday Architect plays a critical role in driving the strategic planning, design, configuration, and maintenance of Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) and Financials at Shriners Children’s. This role is responsible for bridging the gap between HR, Finance, Supply Chain Operations, and IT, translating business requirements into sustainable system solutions. As a key member of the team, the Workday Architect will work closely with various stakeholders to analyze process pain points and deliver Workday-enabled solutions.

The success of this role is crucial to the organization's ongoing support models, where stability, continuous improvement, and adoption of Workday functionality drive organizational success. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Workday modules, including HCM, Financials, Supply Chain, Security, Integration, and Core. They will also possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The Workday Architect will report to a senior leader and will be responsible for managing a range of stakeholders, including HR, Finance, and IT teams. They will be expected to provide expertise and guidance on Workday best practices, ensuring that the organization's Workday system is optimized and aligned with business objectives.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for Workday upgrades and new functionality implementation
  • Lead the design and configuration of Workday HCM across Core HCM, Payroll, Absence, Benefits, Compensation, Time Tracking, Learning, Talent, and Recruiting
  • Lead the design and configuration of Workday Financials across General Ledger, Banking & Settlements, Procurement, Expenses, and Accounting Center
  • Manage condition rules, validations, business processes, and security assignments for HR and Finance-related functionality
  • Lead the design and configuration of Workday Supply Chain modules such as Procurement, Inventory, Supplier Accounts, and Strategic Sourcing
  • Lead the design and configuration of Workday Security, Integration, and requests that are Core to Workday and shared across different modules and 3rd party applications as needed
  • Maintain configuration documentation and version control through Change Control governance processes
  • Provide support for all Workday service requests and incidents from Operations teams
  • Research, diagnose, and resolve Workday functional problems, escalating to Workday Community or AMS partners as needed

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in Workday HCM and Financials implementation, configuration, and maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of Workday modules, including HCM, Financials, Supply Chain, Security, Integration, and Core
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Finance, and IT
  • Experience with Workday upgrades and new functionality implementation
  • Strong understanding of business processes and ability to translate requirements into sustainable system solutions
  • Experience with configuration documentation and version control through Change Control governance processes
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with ability to escalate issues to Workday Community or AMS partners as needed

  • Experience with Workday Supply Chain modules, including Procurement, Inventory, and Strategic Sourcing
  • Knowledge of Workday Security and Integration
  • Experience with Workday reporting and analytics
  • Certification in Workday HCM or Financials
