Client Success Manager, Labor & Multi Employer Funds
Job Description
Virta Health is on a mission to reverse metabolic disease in one billion people. Current treatment approaches aren’t working—over half of US adults have either type 2 diabetes or prediabetes, and obesity rates are at an all-time high. Virta is changing this by helping people reverse their metabolic condition through innovations in technology, personalized nutrition, and virtual care delivery reinvented from the ground up. We have raised over $350 million from top-tier investors and partner with the largest health plans, employers, and government organizations to help their employees and members restore their health and take back their lives. Join us on our mission to reverse metabolic disease in one billion people. We are looking for a Customer Success Manager to join our Public Sector Customer Success team. In this role, you will serve as the strategic relationship manager for a portfolio of state, local government, education, and public-sector customers. You will partner with customer stakeholders to drive adoption, engagement, and measurable outcomes while navigating the unique complexities of public-sector organizations, including multiple stakeholders, procurement processes, and budget cycles. If you enjoy building trusted partnerships, solving complex challenges, and improving population health, we'd love to meet you. RESPONSIBILITIES - Manage a portfolio of labor funds, unions, and multi-employer health plans.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for customer stakeholders.
- Lead business reviews focused on engagement, outcomes, ROI, and long-term value.
- Build relationships with fund administrators, consultants, trustees, and labor leadership.
- Partner cross-functionally to solve customer challenges and drive successful outcomes.
- Identify retention risks, growth opportunities, and strategies to strengthen partnerships.
- Build relationships with key internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Learn the unique dynamics of labor organizations and multi-employer funds.
- Participate in customer meetings, trustee discussions, and business reviews.
- Begin independently managing your assigned portfolio.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while navigating complex customer environments.
- Experience presenting outcomes, ROI, and strategic recommendations to leadership audiences.
- Demonstrates a proactive use of AI tools to improve individual output and efficiency.
How to Stand Out
- Highlight your experience with health‑plan or employer‑sponsored wellness programs: in your resume and cover letter, quantify outcomes (e.g., “Reduced member churn by 12% across a 200‑member employer cohort by implementing data‑driven engagement plans”). Use the same terminology Virta uses—“public sector,” “multi‑employer funds,” and “population health metrics”—to signal you understand their ecosystem.
- Demonstrate mastery of Virta’s core tech stack: be ready to discuss how you’ve used Salesforce (or a comparable CRM), Tableau/Looker, and API‑based data integrations to track enrollment, utilization, and health outcomes. Include a short 2‑page “tool cheat sheet” in your application showing specific dashboards you built and the KPI improvements they drove.
- Prepare a case study for the interview that mirrors Virta’s client lifecycle: map out the steps from contract onboarding (clinical protocol alignment, data‑feed setup) to ongoing value‑realization (monthly health‑outcome reporting, ROI calculations). Show concrete deliverables—e.g., a sample quarterly success report with visualized A1C reduction trends and cost‑savings calculations.
- Emphasize remote‑work discipline: list the collaboration platforms you use (Slack, Asana, Zoom) and give a concrete example of running a virtual stakeholder workshop across multiple time zones that resulted in a signed renewal. Mention your “core hours” policy and any productivity metrics (e.g., “maintained 95% on‑time task completion over 6 months”).
- When negotiating salary, research Virta’s recent Series C funding round and typical CSM compensation bands for health‑tech firms (base $100‑$130 k + 10‑15% performance bonus). Prepare a one‑pager that aligns your proven ROI numbers (e.g., $1.2 M saved for previous employer) with the bonus structure, and propose a “success‑share” add‑on tied to specific metabolic‑outcome targets you’ll help achieve.
