Forward Deployed Creative Strategist
Job Description
About Hightouch
Hightouch is an Agentic Marketing Platform powered by the industry-leading Composable CDP. With complete brand context, customer data, and performance history in one place, every marketer finally has the power to build and ship end-to-end campaigns themselves. Teams move faster, stay on brand, and get AI marketing that actually works.
Founded in 2019 and headquartered in San Francisco, Hightouch enables marketing teams to analyze performance, brainstorm ideas, and generate creative at a speed and quality that wasn't previously possible.
Named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Customer Data Platforms, Hightouch is trusted by leading enterprises like Domino's, Spotify, Aritzia, Cars.com, Ramp, and PetSmart.
At Hightouch, our mission is to help our customers leverage data and AI to grow their businesses. The team is ambitious, impact-driven, efficient — and we believe humility, kindness, and compassion are essential to our success. If you're energized by velocity, obsessed with raising the bar, and want to build alongside people who care deeply about each other and our customers, we'd love to meet you.
Why Hightouch?
Here, you will be at the forefront of the next evolution of MarTech. You’ll have the autonomy to shape a massive new product category while working alongside a world-class team and some of the most forward-thinking consumer brands in the world.
The Role
We are looking for our first Forward Deployed Creative Strategist to act as the crucial bridge between our cutting-edge agentic platform and the world’s most innovative brands.
Reporting into the Solutions & Success organization, you will be a zero-to-one foundational member of the team. You will speak peer-to-peer with performance marketing leaders, educating them on the paradigm shift toward agentic marketing systems, and guiding them through successful pilots. You will pair your deep marketing expertise with innate sales acumen to navigate complex buying processes and drive adoption.
What You’ll Do
- Act as a Strategic Peer: Engage with performance marketing teams at top-tier, innovative companies. You will speak their language, understand their current attribution and campaign scaling challenges, and educate them on how agentic workflows can transform their operations.
- Drive Deals & Pilots: Partner closely with our sales organization to navigate complex enterprise buying processes. You will be instrumental in defining pilot success criteria and driving those pilots forward to closed-won deals.
- Collaborate with Creative: Work hand-in-hand with our Forward Deployed Creative Designers. You will bridge the gap between performance data and creative execution, ensuring that AI-generated assets (utilizing the latest generation models like Veo and Nano Banana 2) are optimized for conversion and pilot success.
- Shape the Playbook: As the first person in this role, you will help design the go-to-market motion, define the educational frameworks we use for new customers, and feed critical market insights back to our product and engineering teams.
What We’re Looking For
- Performance Marketing DNA: Deep, hands-on experience running and scaling performance marketing campaigns. You understand the metrics, the pain points, and the day-to-day realities of a performance marketer.
- Sales Acumen: You possess strong commercial instincts. Whether you have formal sales experience or a natural ability to guide a prospect through an evaluation, you know how to build consensus, handle objections, and close.
- Cross-Functional Fluency: Proven experience working closely with creative teams and designers. You know how to brief creatives, evaluate assets, and tie creative performance back to marketing metrics.
- A "Zero-to-One" Mindset: You thrive in ambiguity and are excited by the prospect of building a new function from the ground up in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Curiosity: An eagerness to dive deep into AI-driven creative performance and the evolving landscape of agentic marketing tools.
The on-target earning range for this position is $180,000-$250,000 per year, which is location-independent in accordance with our remote-first policy. We also offer meaningful equity compensation in the form of ISO options, and offer early exercise and a 10-year post-termination exercise window.
E-Verify Statement
Hightouch participates in E-Verify. After you join the team, we'll verify your eligibility to work in the U.S. by submitting information from your Form I-9 to the Social Security Administration and, if needed, the Department of Homeland Security. This process happens post-hire only — we never use E-Verify to pre-screen applicants.

How to Stand Out
- Build a mini‑portfolio of 2‑3 end‑to‑end campaigns that use a CDP or customer‑data platform (e.g., Segment, RudderStack) to segment audiences, apply AI‑generated copy, and ship the final assets in Figma/Adobe; include screenshots, the data query (SQL or Looker) you used, the creative brief, and measurable results (CTR, conversion lift) – Hightouch interviewers will ask you to walk through the full workflow.
- Master the core tools Hightouch’s platform integrates with: SQL for audience extraction, API‑centric data sync (REST/GraphQL), Figma for collaborative design, and prompt‑engineering for their AI marketing layer. Create a short demo (5 min video or live sandbox) that shows you pulling data, shaping a segment, and generating a campaign mock‑up directly in the Hightouch UI.
- Research Hightouch’s flagship customers (Domino’s, Spotify, Aritzia, Cars.com, Ramp, PetSmart) and prepare one “case‑study pitch” that explains how you would improve a recent campaign for one of them using Hightouch’s composable CDP—highlight brand context, data‑driven insights, and a concrete creative concept.
- Highlight remote‑first collaboration skills: list the async tools you use (Slack, Notion, Miro, Asana) and give a concrete example of how you ran a cross‑functional creative sprint across time zones, kept deliverables on track, and documented decisions for future reference.
- In the interview, demonstrate a “data‑to‑creative” mindset by taking a sample dataset (they may share one) and, on the spot, formulate a segmentation hypothesis, outline a brief, and sketch the first visual direction—showing you can move from insight to execution at the speed Hightouch promises.
- When negotiating, reference the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant leadership and Hightouch’s rapid growth stage; cite market data for comparable Forward‑Deployed Creative Strategist roles (US $130‑$160 k base + equity) and negotiate for a remote‑work stipend or flexible PTO that supports the high‑velocity, client‑facing nature of the job.
