Qualifications

• Advanced professional written proficiency in English - 3–7 years of professional software engineering experience - Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript; working knowledge of Java, C#, or Go - Backend or full‑stack development experience in production systems - Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, Go testing) - Proven ability to debug and navigate large, multi‑file codebases - Experience with code reviews, refactoring, and production migrations Engagement: Part-time, project-based expert evaluation work Work Type: Remote Contributors will design and evaluate realistic software engineering tasks, including bug resolution, feature implementation, refactoring/migration, and test generation.

Responsibilities

• Showcase End‑to‑End Python + TypeScript Projects: Include a GitHub repo or live demo where you built a full‑stack app (e.g., FastAPI backend + React/Next.js front‑end) that uses automated tests (pytest for the API, Jest for the UI). Highlight your test coverage reports and CI pipeline (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) to prove you meet the “testing frameworks” requirement.
• Demonstrate Multi‑Language Fluency: Even if Java, C#, or Go are only “working knowledge,” add a small, well‑documented module in one of those languages (e.g., a Go microservice that talks to your Python API). Explain the design decisions and how you integrated it, showing you can switch stacks quickly for the AI Lab’s heterogeneous codebase.
• Prepare a Debugging Walkthrough: In the interview, be ready to open a multi‑file repository (preferably one you contributed to) and walk the interviewers through a real bug you fixed. Use breakpoints, logging, and profiling tools (e.g., VS Code debugger, Py‑Spy, Chrome DevTools) to illustrate your ability to navigate large codebases and communicate the reasoning clearly in English.
• Tailor Your Code Review Samples: Submit a short video (2‑3 min) or a PDF of a recent pull‑request where you performed a thorough review—point out style improvements, performance optimizations, and security checks.
