Communications programs measurably contribute to commercial growth, recruiting, and brand reputation. - Showcase GTM‑focused storytelling with data: Build a one‑page case study that maps a past product launch’s go‑to‑market plan to the narrative you crafted, then illustrate the impact with Excel dashboards (e.g., adoption curves, media impressions, pipeline contribution). Attach the Excel file or embed a screenshot in your portfolio so interviewers can see both the story and the metrics you tracked.
- Create a “Narrative Architecture” sample for Simbe: Draft a concise messaging hierarchy (core promise → supporting pillars → tactical messages) that aligns with Simbe’s retail‑automation positioning, referencing recent press releases and competitor messaging. Submit this as a PDF appendix with your application; it demonstrates you’ve already begun the editor‑in‑chief work they expect.
- Highlight cross‑functional collaboration via a “Stakeholder Map”: In your resume or LinkedIn, add a visual matrix (you can build it quickly in Excel) showing how you partnered with product, sales, and executive teams on past campaigns. During the interview, walk the interviewer through the map to prove you can coordinate the same cross‑functional effort Simbe requires.
- Quantify narrative impact with Excel models: Prepare a simple ROI model that links a messaging initiative to measurable outcomes (e.g., lead‑to‑op conversion, brand lift, cost‑per‑impression). Bring the spreadsheet to the interview and be ready to explain the assumptions; Simbe’s leadership will look for data‑driven justification of communications spend.
- Negotiate with market‑specific data: Research salary bands for senior communications leaders in remote, tech‑hardware firms (e.g., 2024 Radford/Levels.fyi data for “Head of Communications” in the U.S.). Prepare a one‑page summary that aligns your compensation ask with your proven GTM impact and the cost‑savings of a remote leader (no office overhead). Use this when discussing offers to secure a package that reflects both market rates and your strategic value.
