How to Stand Out
- Highlight your Excel expertise with a one‑page “sales analytics” sample: include a spreadsheet showing how you tracked lead conversion, policy value, and commission trends for past roles, using pivot tables, VLOOKUP/ XLOOKUP, and conditional formatting to illustrate data‑driven decision making. Attach it as a PDF or link in your application.
- Emphasize experience with inbound, consultative selling—describe a specific case where you turned a warm lead into a multi‑carrier policy, noting the homeowner’s risk profile, the carriers you compared, and the total premium saved. Use numbers (e.g., “increased average policy size by 22% within 3 months”).
- Showcase your remote‑work readiness: list your home office setup (high‑speed internet ≥ 100 Mbps, dual monitors, CRM/VoIP tools) and mention any proven self‑management habits (daily time‑blocking, KPI dashboards). Include a brief video (≤ 90 sec) introducing yourself and your remote workflow.
- Prepare for Kin’s values interview by aligning with their mission on climate risk and affordable coverage—research a recent extreme‑weather event in a U.S. market you’d serve, and be ready to discuss how you’d advise a homeowner to mitigate exposure using Kin’s product suite.
- Bring quantifiable proof of “uncapped earnings” motivation: compile a short “commission tracker” that shows your historic earnings growth (e.g., “$95K OTE achieved in 2022 by closing 45 policies”). Mention this in your cover letter to signal you thrive on performance‑based pay.
- When negotiating salary, reference Kin’s $70K+ OTE baseline and your documented earnings. Propose a tiered incentive structure (e.g., 5% higher commission after 120% quota) and ask for a signing bonus tied to achieving your first quarterly target—demonstrating both confidence and a results‑first mindset.
