Product Marketing Lead
Job Description
ABOUT CODE METAL Code Metal is redefining code translation for mission-critical industries, helping defense partners move more quickly and reliably from algorithm to silicon. Our platform accelerates deployment of DSP, RF, communications, and embedded signal processing algorithms onto heterogeneous compute targets, including GPUs, FPGAs, ASICs, and edge SoCs. We also support automotive, aerospace, and semiconductor partners deploying complex algorithms onto constrained hardware with speed and rigor.
Role Overview
We are looking for Code Metal’s first Product Marketing Lead — a technical-leaning, full-stack product marketer who can turn our platform into clear messaging, launches, demos, customer proof, and field-ready assets. You’ll sit at the intersection of marketing, product, engineering, sales, and executive leadership, translating complex technical capabilities into product stories that audiences can understand and trust. You’ll help bring new products and capabilities to market, shaping the messaging, packaging, demo strategy, sales enablement, and customer proof that make our platform credible and compelling. This is a high-ownership role for someone who can think strategically about positioning, work well cross-functionally, and roll up their sleeves to ship. The focus is product depth, technical clarity, and customer proof. The right person is curious enough to go deep with engineers, disciplined enough to make the output simple, and energized by turning a complex, ambitious platform into a clear and compelling product story. As the first product marketer at Code Metal, you’ll have significant ownership in building the product marketing foundation for the company. There will be plenty to create, shape, and improve — and not a lot of bureaucracy standing in the way. WHAT YOU’LL DO: - Own product positioning and messaging for Code Metal’s platform, capabilities, workflows, and use cases, from foundational platform narratives to feature-level talking points.- Lead product marketing for new launches, partnering with product, engineering, sales, and marketing to land clear messaging, launch assets, demos, web content, enablement, and customer proof.
- Build a deep understanding of our customers, technical users, use cases, and competitive landscape, and turn that insight into messaging and content that resonates with developers, engineering leaders, technical buyers, and partners.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear product stories, diagrams, demos, web copy, one-pagers, white papers, solution briefs, and field-facing materials.
- Partner closely with product and engineering to understand how the platform works, what is differentiated, and what customers need to believe in order to trust it.
- Develop customer proof points and turn them into credible case studies, slides, one-pagers, proof-point libraries, and sales-ready narratives.
- Equip sales, customer success, and leadership with the materials they need for high-stakes conversations, including product explanations, competitive proof points, launch messaging, and event follow-up assets.
- Build lightweight, repeatable product marketing processes for intake, prioritization, review, publishing, reuse, launch planning, and measurement.
- A key strategic product or platform capability has been successfully launched, creating a repeatable model for bringing major new capabilities to market.
- Customer proof points are captured and converted into reusable assets, including customer stories, case studies, slides, one-pagers, and proof-point libraries.
- A steady product content engine is producing high-quality white papers, technical explainers, solution briefs, web content, and field enablement materials tied to product priorities.
- Code Metal has a scalable product marketing foundation with clear processes for intake, prioritization, review, publishing, reuse, launch planning, and measurement.
- A track record of crafting positioning, messaging, and go-to-market materials for complex technical products, platforms, or categories.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; you can make complex technical topics clear, credible, and useful without oversimplifying them.
- Strong understanding of developer, engineering, and technical buyer audiences.
- Strategic instincts paired with execution chops — you can set direction, build the plan, and ship the work.
- Great taste and discernment: you can tell what is hype, what is real, and what will resonate with sophisticated technical audiences.
- Ability to work closely with engineers, product teams, executives, sales, and customer-facing teams to turn complex ideas into compelling product content.
- Comfort with ambiguity, high ownership, and building from an early-stage starting point with limited bureaucracy.
- Experience creating or leading technical demos, product pages, customer stories, launch assets, white papers, one-pagers, solution briefs, or sales enablement materials.
- Technical background or experience with AI, developer tools, embedded systems, semiconductors, heterogeneous compute, DSP, RF, GPUs, FPGAs, ASICs, or mission-critical industries is a plus.
How to Stand Out
- Highlight any experience you have turning complex hardware‑centric tech (e.g., DSP, FPGA, ASIC) into market‑ready messaging—include a brief case study in your resume that shows the problem, your messaging strategy, and measurable results (e.g., lead generation increase, demo‑to‑close ratio).
- Build a one‑page “demo‑playbook” sample that walks a non‑technical stakeholder through a typical Code Metal workflow (algorithm → translation → deployment on edge SoC). Use screenshots, a flow diagram, and Excel‑based KPI tables to demonstrate you can create field‑ready assets that bridge engineering and sales.
- Quantify every marketing achievement with Excel formulas or pivot tables (e.g., “Reduced product launch cycle by 30 % using a ROI model I built in Excel that tracked feature readiness, partner adoption, and forecasted revenue”). Attach the Excel file or embed a screenshot in your portfolio to prove analytical depth.
- In your cover letter, reference Code Metal’s focus on defense and aerospace compliance (e.g., ITAR, DO‑254). Show you understand the “speed and rigor” requirement by describing how you’d design a compliance‑check checklist or a proof‑of‑concept launch plan that satisfies both technical validation and marketing timelines.
- Prepare for the interview by drafting a 5‑minute remote presentation that pitches a fictional new Code Metal module (e.g., “Real‑time Beamforming on Edge GPUs”). Use a slide deck with concise copy, data‑driven charts from Excel, and a live demo outline—this will signal you can own end‑to‑end product launch responsibilities from day 1.
