QA/Compliance Specialist
WFA Digital Insight
Wynd Labs is building the plumbing behind the next generation of AI—massive web crawlers, data pipelines, and annotation systems. The QA/Compliance Specialist sits at the intersection of engineering and product, tasked with catching inconsistencies before code ships. What sets this role apart is the focus on a distributed crawler infrastructure that most candidates won’t encounter elsewhere, meaning reviewers must understand both data quality and compliance implications at scale. The team values independent judgment and clear communication, so the ability to document findings in a structured way is as important as spotting the bugs themselves. Candidates should be comfortable shifting priorities quickly, as the product cadence is rapid and the stakes—high‑quality data for AI training—are uniquely high.
Job Description
Who we are
We build infrastructure that delivers massive amounts of web data to the companies training the world’s most powerful AI models. We're the team that helps to power and support Grass, a bandwidth-sharing network that lets us operate a massive distributed crawler, giving us unique access to high-quality public web data at global scale. On top of that, we’ve built pipelines for ingesting, segmenting, and annotating billions of videos, transcripts, and audio files, powering dataset creation for frontier labs. We’re lean, technical, and move fast. No red tape, no slow decision-making; just a team of builders pushing to expand what’s possible for open web data and AI.Who you are
- You have experience in a fast-paced environment/startup where priorities can change quickly. • You have excellent attention to detail and naturally spot inconsistencies. • You communicate clearly and can explain issues in a structured, professional manner. • You enjoy reviewing products, identifying issues, and helping teams deliver high-quality releases. • You're comfortable working independently and taking ownership of your work. • Experience collaborating closely with engineering, product, or operations teams.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a similar product review role. • Strong written and verbal English communication skills. • Excellent attention to detail. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to communicate findings clearly and professionally. • Ability to exercise good judgment and make thoughtful decisions independently. • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams. • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple reviews simultaneously.
- Culture. We're a lean team with a high bar. We come to work not to be comfortable, but to find out what we're capable of and to do work that matters.
- Compensation. You’ll receive a competitive salary, benefits and equity package.
How to Stand Out
- Highlight any past experience reviewing code or data releases; concrete examples of issues you caught will stand out.
- Include a short Excel‑based sample (e.g., a pivot table or data‑validation sheet) in your portfolio to demonstrate technical competence.
- Prepare to discuss how you prioritize multiple reviews under tight deadlines; interviewers will probe your workflow.
- Emphasize clear written communication; consider attaching a brief audit report you authored.
- Research Wynd Labs’ crawler and data pipeline architecture to show you understand the product context.
- When negotiating, ask about the equity component and remote‑work stipend, as these are core parts of the package.
- Watch for vague descriptions of “high‑output culture”; ask about work‑life balance expectations during the interview.
