Senior Product Designer | Xsolla
Job Description
ABOUT XSOLLA Xsolla is a global gaming commerce company that provides the business engine behind 2,000+ game developers and publishers worldwide. Founded in 2005, Xsolla builds the payments, storefront, and monetization infrastructure that lets game developers sell directly to players — at a global scale, across 200+ countries, 20+ languages, and 1,000+ payment methods. Headquartered and incorporated in Los Angeles, California, Xsolla operates globally. Offices and hubs mentioned include North Carolina (US), a growing presence in Canada, Berlin, Serbia, multiple offices in China, plus Tokyo and Seoul. Teams are broadly distributed across time zones. ABOUT YOU We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our Consumer Products team and shape experiences that reach players directly across web stores, loyalty programmes, and engagement surfaces that blur the line between commerce and gameplay. In this role, you will design for real people making real decisions: whether to spend, return, share, or stay. You will work at the intersection of consumer psychology, game mechanics, and product strategy, helping build experiences that feel as rewarding as the games they support. WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR - Design end-to-end consumer experiences across web stores, player portals, loyalty systems, and engagement features.
- Translate player psychology, behavioural data, and business goals into intuitive, high-converting design solutions.
- Apply and evolve gamification mechanics such as progression systems, rewards, streaks, and social proof to drive retention and engagement.
- Contribute to and evolve design principles, patterns, and system-level consistency across consumer-facing products.
- Deep understanding of B2C UX: how people browse, decide, and transact in digital environments.
- Strong knowledge of game mechanics, player psychology, and engagement design: you understand why players spend, grind, return, and churn.
- Experience with gamification patterns: progression systems, battle passes, daily rewards, leaderboards, and social loops.
- Strong systems thinking and visual/interaction design craft.
- Comfortable working in data-driven environments: you use metrics and experimentation to validate design decisions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Have shipped B2C products in gaming, entertainment, or social platforms.
- Have experience designing online stores, subscription products, or loyalty/rewards programmes.
- Have experience with AI-assisted design workflows or are actively curious about them.
- Work at a meaningful scale, with measurable impact on conversion and partner revenue.
- A strong cross-functional setup: Product, Engineering, UX Research, UX Writing, DesignOps, plus a functioning design system.
- A remote-first environment with a globally distributed team and real ownership expectations.
- A benefits program (healthcare, PTO, development) with specifics confirmed in process.
How to Stand Out
- Showcase a portfolio that includes at least one end‑to‑end redesign of a gaming payment or storefront experience (e.g., integrating 20+ payment methods, handling 200+ countries, or multi‑currency checkout); accompany each case study with metrics such as conversion lift, reduced friction, or localization efficiency.
- Highlight mastery of Figma (or Sketch) for collaborative design systems, and demonstrate how you’ve built or contributed to a shared component library that supports rapid iteration across multiple languages and regions—Xsolla’s distributed teams will expect you to sync via versioned design tokens and async comments.
- Prepare a short “live audit” of Xsolla’s consumer product UI (e.g., the checkout flow on their web portal); in the interview, walk through your quick usability findings, propose concrete improvements, and explain how you’d validate them with A/B tests and analytics—this shows you can think like a senior designer from day 1.
- Emphasize remote‑first collaboration skills: cite specific tools (Miro, FigJam, Notion, Loom) you use for asynchronous design critiques, sprint planning across EST/PST/CEST time zones, and how you document design decisions for cross‑functional stakeholders (product, engineering, localization).
- When discussing compensation, reference Glassdoor/Levels.fyi data for senior product designers at remote‑first gaming SaaS firms (typically $130‑$170 k base + 0.1‑0.2 % equity); negotiate for a remote work stipend, professional development budget for gaming conferences, and a performance‑linked bonus tied to product milestones (e.g., launch of a new storefront feature).
