- Highlight any experience building HIPAA‑compliant or PHI‑secure services (e.g., encryption at rest, audit logging, role‑based access) in your résumé and be ready to discuss the specific safeguards you implemented, because Rula’s platform handles sensitive mental‑health data.
- In your portfolio, include a GitHub repo or live demo of a scalable micro‑service (Node.js, Go, or Python) that uses AWS/GCP serverless components (Lambda, Cloud Functions, DynamoDB/Firestore) and demonstrates CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or CircleCI—Rula’s stack is cloud‑native and they value end‑to‑end automation.
- Prepare concrete stories about remote collaboration: cite tools like Slack, Asana, Notion, and Zoom, and quantify outcomes (e.g., “reduced code‑review turnaround from 48 h to 12 h across 4 time zones”). Interviewers will test your ability to stay productive and communicative while fully remote.
- Show empathy for the mission by sharing a brief case study where you translated clinical or behavioral research into a product feature (e.g., implementing evidence‑based questionnaires, sentiment‑analysis models, or therapist‑dashboard analytics). This signals cultural fit and domain curiosity.
- When discussing compensation, reference Rula’s remote‑first salary bands (often 10‑15 % above the U.S. national average for senior staff engineers) and back your ask with market data from levels.fyi or Glassdoor, plus the added value of your security‑focused experience and any relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security, CISSP).
