API Consultant
WFA Digital Insight
Statista’s API Consultant sits at the intersection of technical depth and sales charisma—a blend that few remote roles demand. Unlike typical developer‑focused positions, this job asks you to craft and showcase live demo agents that translate raw data into compelling business narratives for everyone from analysts to C‑suite executives. The company’s data‑as‑a‑service model means you’ll be helping customers embed a robust REST API into their workflows, turning abstract metrics into actionable insights. Expect a hands‑on environment where you not only troubleshoot integrations but also shape the product’s future by feeding usage data back to engineering. If you thrive on turning technical capability into a story that sells, Statista offers a rare platform to do just that.
Job Description
At Statista, we’re all about facts and data, for we are the world's leading business data platform. By providing reliable and easy-to-use data as well as various data analytics products and services, we empower people worldwide to make fact-based decisions. Founded in Hamburg in 2007, we have quickly grown into a global company with offices in major cities such as London, New York, Berlin and Tokyo. And we still have a lot of plans. Our constant growth does not only prove our success, but also keeps creating new development and career opportunities for our employees. We value and celebrate our diverse culture. You are welcome here for who you are, no matter where you come from, what you look like, or whether you prefer bar graphs to pie charts. Your story matters – keep writing it as part of our team. Are you ready to join us? About Us We are a fast-growing data-as-a-service provider helping businesses access high-quality business data via a robust REST API. Our platform is trusted by many leading companies in their filed to power intelligent decisions, automation, and AI applications. We are now expanding our sales team with a technically skilled API Consultant to help customers succeed from day one. Your Role As an API Consultant, you will be responsible for ensuring customers achieve rapid and sustained success with our API and MCP solution — and just as importantly, for making them excited about it. You will be the face of Statista Connect in front of customers: pitching the solution, building and demoing custom agents live, and turning technical capability into a compelling story that wins hearts and budgets. You'll guide customers from initial setup to advanced use cases, drive adoption by crafting tailored prompts and agents, and help them seamlessly integrate our API solution into their workflows. This is a hybrid role where technical expertise meets showmanship. If you light up when you get to demo something you built and watch a customer's eyes widen — this role is for you. If presenting to customers feels like a chore you'd rather delegate, it is not. Key responsibilities - Pitching & Demoing (core of the role): Deliver compelling pitches and live demos of Statista Connect to prospects and customers, from analysts to C-level. Independently build and iterate on demo agents, prompts, and workflows tailored to each customer's use case — and use them to create genuine excitement and "I need this" moments in every meeting.
- Customer Adoption & Enablement: Guide customers from initial setup to advanced use cases with tailored prompts, agents, onboarding flows, documentation, and tutorials — carrying the excitement from the pitch through to daily usage.
- Data-Driven Engagement: Use product usage data, API analytics, and customer health scores to spot adoption blockers and expansion opportunities, and act on them with proactive guidance, lifecycle outreach, and new pitch angles.
- Integration Success: Ensure smooth API integrations, resolve blockers quickly, document best practices, and collaborate with engineering on technical challenges.
- Commercial Support: Identify upsell and expansion opportunities and support sales teams with demos and technical storytelling in renewal and growth conversations.
- Feedback Loop: Share insights from pitches, demos, and usage data with product and engineering to sharpen the pitch, refine demo agents, and shape the roadmap.
- Customer-Facing Technical Experience: Prior role as Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Developer Advocate, Technical Consultant, or pre-sales-oriented CS, with proven success winning over customers.
- Analytical & Communicative: Comfortable using product data and health scores to drive decisions, and able to explain technical concepts in a simple, engaging way to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
- Problem-Solver: Quick to identify and resolve adoption blockers and guide customers through technical challenges.
- Bonus: Pre-sales or solution-selling experience, data pipelines, research background, B2B data solutions, or PLG environment experience.
- Impactful Role: Play a key role in customer success and product adoption, directly impacting customer experience and business outcomes.
- Innovative API Solution: Work with a cutting-edge API / MCP solution at the forefront of the data industry, solving real-world challenges for customers.
- Collaborative Team: Be part of a passionate, fast-moving team where cross-functional collaboration is at the core of what we do.
- Growth Opportunities: Shape the customer journey, influence product strategy, and contribute to the company’s expansion while advancing your own career.
- Competitive
