Job Description
The candidate will be responsible for serving as the primary functional and solution architect for Salesforce implementation engagements across university advancement and nonprofit fundraising clients. This includes providing end-to-end leadership from discovery, requirements development and user story definition through to solution design, sprint delivery, testing, deployment, and go-live. The candidate will need to translate client business needs into scalable solutions with defined delivery scope, while overseeing configuration, integrations, data architecture, sprint planning, and overall solution quality. The candidate will also be a trusted advisor to clients and is expected to help resolve delivery challenges, provide objective analysis and recommendations, and ensure solutions remain aligned with client goals, scope, and best practices.
In addition to supporting client projects, the candidate will serve as a trusted advisor and leader within the Attain Partners team, supporting adoption, training, documentation, and knowledge transfer to ensure long-term solution success. This includes strengthening delivery practices and contributing to practice growth through proposal support, solutioning, pilots and proofs of concept, thought leadership, and development of reusable assets.
Through user story definition, logical data model design, functional system design, and best-practice methodologies, you will be responsible for the detailed design of enterprise-level Salesforce and related technology projects from inception through production support. You will be responsible for providing industry best practices as a trusted advisor to key business and technology stakeholders and identifying areas of product growth.
Required Skills
- Experience in enterprise-level Salesforce projects using both waterfall and agile software development methodologies throughout the whole life cycle with repeated and demonstrable success
- Deep functional and technical expertise in the Salesforce platform, including core configuration features, data models, security, automation, reporting, integrations, and deployment practices.
- Demonstrable experience delivering solutions across the Salesforce product suite, including Sales, Service, Experience, .
- Strong requirements gathering and business analysis skills, including facilitation of discovery workshops and conversion of requirements into user stories and actionable delivery scope
- Experience in documenting and diagraming current state business processes and future-state solutions, along with the ability to communicate related recommendations, tradeoffs, risks, and technical concepts to both business and technical audiences.
- Experience integrating Salesforce with different business systems, as well as working with integration tools (ETL, SIS, finance, marketing automation, reporting, etc.)
- Salesforce development expertise, including Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL/SOSL, asynchronous processing, and platform development patterns, with the ability to design, review, troubleshoot, and contribute to custom solutions when declarative capabilities are insufficient.
- Expert level understanding of environment management, release management, code versioning best practices, and deployment methodologies
- Experience supporting solution estimates, proposals, technical solutioning, or other pre-sales and practice-development activities.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree
- Must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer
- Salesforce Admin Certification
Desired Skills
- 6+ years direct experience in software development life cycle
- 5-8 years’ experience in Salesforce configuration and implementing CRM systems
- Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of CRM software solutions
- Experience using or implementing Kindsight Ascend or Affinaquest
- Grants Management and Foundation Connect experience is a plus.
- Specific knowledge of CRM SaaS products; Salesforce ideal
- Higher Education, Nonprofit Cloud certifications (desired but not required)
- Project management skills and experience in managing teams
- Strong knowledge of data management, including data capture, warehousing, segmentation, storing, cleansing, and security
