How to Stand Out
- Highlight hands‑on experience with Epic’s Revenue Cycle modules (e.g., Epic Resolute, Billing, Collections). In your résumé and cover letter, list specific projects, the size of the client organization, and measurable outcomes (e.g., “Reduced claim denial rate by 22% through Epic‑based workflow redesign”).
- Build a concise portfolio of before‑and‑after case studies that show you leading end‑to‑end back‑end revenue cycle improvements—include screenshots or sanitized workflow diagrams, the key performance indicators you tracked, and the ROI you delivered. Share the portfolio link in your application and be ready to walk through one example during the interview.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of healthcare reimbursement rules (CMS, ACA, payer contracts) and how they integrate with Epic. Prepare a 2‑minute “tech‑plus‑policy” pitch that explains how you would audit a client’s denial trends and configure Epic to automatically apply the correct payer edits. Interviewers use this to gauge both technical and regulatory expertise.
- Emphasize remote‑team leadership skills: cite specific tools (e.g., Teams, Zoom, Miro, Smartsheet) and agile practices you used to coordinate cross‑functional consultants, client IT staff, and billing teams across time zones. Mention your average response time and any process‑automation scripts (PowerShell, Python) you built to keep remote projects on schedule.
- Research Impact Advisors’ recent KLAS awards and client success stories; reference at least one in your interview answer to show you understand their market positioning and can align your revenue‑cycle strategies with their “patient‑centered, value‑driven” mission.
- When discussing compensation, leverage industry data for Epic revenue‑cycle consultants (e.g., $130‑$150 k base for remote senior roles) and prepare a tiered ask that includes a performance‑based bonus tied to client revenue‑cycle KPI improvements you’ll deliver in the first 12 months.
