Autodesk Inventor Specialist is contract work for micro1, reviewing and correcting what AI models produce in other. The output of the job is expert judgement written down: a model gives an answer, someone who knows the subject decides whether it is right and explains why.
What it requires. No credential is stated on this listing beyond experience in the field.
What it pays. USD 30 to USD 100 an hour, as published by micro1. Rates in this category track how rare the credential is rather than how hard the work is.
Where. The listing says this role is remote and names no country. micro1 says it hires talent from around the world, except people who reside in Afghanistan, Belarus, China, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Hong Kong, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Macao, Myanmar, North Korea, Russian Federation, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, Ukraine, and Yemen. So this page lists every other country as eligible, on the strength of that rule and not of anything this listing says. Requirements can still differ by role, so check the application page on micro1 before you apply.

Role Title: Autodesk Inventor Specialist Role Type: Contractor Location: Remote micro1 is engaging Autodesk Inventor Specialists to contribute to a customer-focused project involving advanced mechanical design. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters. Note on Software: We're looking for experts with strong 3D parametric CAD modelling experience — for example, in Autodesk Inventor Specialist. This experience is directly transferable to FreeCAD, which is the software this project will focus on. Prior FreeCAD experience is ideal. Scope of Work Develop fully-parametric 3D CAD models of mechanical parts and assemblies based on detailed written briefs using Autodesk Inventor (or comparable platforms). Edit and update existing models to reflect revised requirements, ensuring all changes remain fully parametric and in line with best practices. Audit and review CAD models for compliance with dimensional, tolerance, and manufacturability criteria, identifying and documenting any gaps or issues. Create and interpret detailed technical drawings, applying ASME Y14.5 or equivalent GD&T standards. Ensure robust Design for Manufacturability (DFM) considerations across processes such as injection molding, sheet metal, CNC machining, and casting/forging. Support AI training initiatives by providing clear documentation and rationale for design decisions, edits, and audits. Communicate effectively in written and verbal formats, delivering precise feedback and solution-oriented insights to project stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Minimum 4 years of hands-on parametric modeling experience for edit-level tasks; 10+ years for complex creation work. Expertise in Autodesk Inventor, with fluency in similar platforms like FreeCAD, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360 considered highly relevant. Demonstrated proficiency with GD&T (ASME Y14.5 or equivalent), with practical, real-world application. Proven DFM experience covering at least two to three manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, sheet metal, CNC, casting). Experience with reverse engineering workflows, such as scan-to-CAD or point cloud-to-model reconstruction. Ability to manage assembly-level designs and complex mechanical systems, not just single-part modeling. Familiarity with CAD automation, scripting (Python, iLogic, VBA, NX Open), or similar tools for enhancing workflow efficiency.
