WFA Research
Every company on this list put itself here, in its own job postings. Nobody was nominated, surveyed, or asked to apply.

Lists of “remote-first companies” are usually built from what companies say about themselves on their careers page. This one is built from what they wrote in the job postings, which is a harder place to be aspirational: a posting that says it hires from anywhere is a commitment to the person reading it.
Of the 493 employers with a stated hiring scope on at least 5 open roles, 32 have posted at least one job open to the world. Only 19 do it as a matter of course.
At least 50% of this employer's postings with a stated scope say they will hire from anywhere.

These employers have roles open to the world, but most of their postings are limited to named countries or regions. Shown separately, because one global job does not make a global employer.

Splitting the list that way is not fussiness. One employer here has 166 postings with a stated scope and exactly one open to the world. Ranked by raw count it would sit among genuinely global companies, which is how these lists usually go wrong.
It is not filtered by what the company does. Staffing firms, outsourcing agencies and virtual-assistant businesses appear here alongside product companies. We could separate them only by making a judgement call about each employer, which would be our opinion rather than anything in the postings, so we do not make it. Read the names.
It is not a promise you are eligible. A worldwide scope is a statement about geography. It says nothing about work authorisation, contract type, timezone expectations or pay.
Listings come directly from employers' own applicant tracking systems — Greenhouse, Ashby, Workday, Lever and others. No aggregator is used as a source. Only listings where the employer stated its hiring scope count; inferred scopes are excluded from every figure, because an inference about geography is our sentence and not the employer's.
An employer needs at least 5 listings with a stated scope to appear, so that a percentage means something; 493 clear that bar. Both the count and the share are printed on every row because ranking by count alone rewards size, and the 166-to-1 case above shows what that produces.
The listings WFA Digital collects, which skew towards employers using a modern applicant tracking system and therefore towards technology and English-language companies. An employer absent from this list may well hire globally without saying so in its postings. The list also moves as roles open and close: it is generated on request rather than curated, so it is current rather than stable.
Every listing says which countries it can hire from before you apply. Browse by where you live or by field.
