AI training contract
Electrical & Circuit Design Expert
Engineering · Advertised USD 60-130 an hour. · 25 openings
Electrical & Circuit Design Expert is contract work for micro1, reviewing and correcting what AI models produce in engineering. The output of the job is expert judgement written down: a model gives an answer, someone who knows the subject decides whether it is right and explains why.
What it requires. This role is gated on phd or academic credential. Applications without it are not considered, and the requirement is stated here because the original advert usually carries it well below the rate.
What it pays. micro1 advertises USD 60 to USD 130 an hour. It also states that pay is output based, paid per task that meets the project specifications, so the hourly figure is an advertised equivalent and not a guaranteed wage.
Where. The listing says this role is remote and names no country. micro1 says it hires talent from around the world, except people who reside in Afghanistan, Belarus, China, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Hong Kong, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Macao, Myanmar, North Korea, Russian Federation, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, Ukraine, and Yemen. So this page lists every other country as eligible, on the strength of that rule and not of anything this listing says. Requirements can still differ by role, so check the application page on micro1 before you apply.
micro1 lists 25 openings on this role.
Skills named: Circuit Analysis, Computer Engineering, Computer Architecture, RF & Microwave, Power Electronics, Analog & Digital Electronics, attention to detail, remote collaboration.
Applications are made on micro1, not here. WFA Digital is independent of micro1 and may receive a referral fee if you are hired, at no cost to you.

Job Description Role Title: Electrical & Circuit Design Expert Role Type: Contractor Location: Remote micro1 is selecting Electrical & Circuit Design Experts to contribute to a customer's project focused on advancing the capabilities of AI technologies in electrical engineering. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required, your domain knowledge is what matters. This is an opportunity to impact the future of engineering by ensuring that AI systems can accurately interpret, solve, and explain complex circuit design challenges across analog, digital, mixed-signal, power, and RF domains. Experts with a passion for precision, technical detail, and clear written and verbal communication will find this engagement both rewarding and influential. Scope of Work Evaluate and solve advanced circuit design and electrical engineering problems across multiple domains, including analog, digital, mixed-signal, power, and RF circuits. Review and assess AI-generated technical responses for technical correctness, accuracy, and engineering quality. Apply practical engineering judgment to real-world design scenarios and theoretical questions. Analyze and troubleshoot a wide range of circuit types using industry-standard techniques such as Kirchhoff's laws, node-voltage analysis, small-signal analysis, and phasor analysis. Contribute domain expertise to inform model improvements and refine AI reasoning in electrical and circuit design. Document feedback and provide clear written and verbal explanations to enhance AI learning and performance. Collaborate remotely with a distributed team of experts and project participants. Preferred Qualifications MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, or BS in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of relevant industry experience. At least 5 years of hands-on experience in analog, digital, mixed-signal, power, or RF circuit design, including participation in hardware that has reached production or tape-out. Expert knowledge of analog/mixed-signal design, digital logic, semiconductor devices, power electronics, RF/microwave systems, and control systems. Proven ability to analyze complex circuits using Thevenin equivalents, Hybrid-π models, FSMs, and timing analysis. Familiarity with semiconductor reliability concerns, EMC, and modern CMOS scaling. Professional English proficiency with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Experience with IC/ASIC design, EDA tools (Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics), PCB design, or high-speed digital/RF system validation is a plus. Strongly preferred — evidence of problem-authoring rigor, such as: service on an IEEE/JEDEC/IPC standards committee; an item-writer role on an NCEES or academic qualifying-exam committee; a verified tapeout (Google/efabless open MPW shuttle or documented industry silicon); a top placement or team-lead role in the ISSCC Student Design Contest, DAC Ph.D. Forum, ICCAD CAD Contest, or IEEE SSCS Chipathon; a best-paper award at ISSCC, JSSC/VLSI Symposia, CICC, ESSCIRC, or DAC; a granted patent tied to shipped silicon; or an early-career fellowship/grant (NSF CAREER, DOE Early Career, ONR/AFOSR YIP, DARPA YFA, Sloan Fellowship). Compensation Structure Compensation is output-based; experts are paid per task that meets the project specifications. The time required to complete work may vary depending on the expert’s experience and workflow. Minimum submission requirements apply. Experts must submit a minimum of tasks per week. Start Timeline & Availability We typically fill roles within 48 hours and are looking for experts ready to jump in right away. If selected, we expect you to start your first tasks within 24–48 hours of completing onboarding.
