AI training contract
Physics Expert (Condensed Matter / Quantum Information)
Science & Research · USD 100-170 an hour. · 10 openings
Physics Expert (Condensed Matter / Quantum Information) is contract work for micro1, reviewing and correcting what AI models produce in science & research. The output of the job is expert judgement written down: a model gives an answer, someone who knows the subject decides whether it is right and explains why.
What it requires. This role is gated on phd or academic credential. Applications without it are not considered, and the requirement is stated here because the original advert usually carries it well below the rate.
What it pays. USD 100 to USD 170 an hour, as published by micro1. Rates in this category track how rare the credential is rather than how hard the work is.
Where. The listing says this role is remote and names no country. micro1 says it hires talent from around the world, except people who reside in Afghanistan, Belarus, China, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Hong Kong, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Macao, Myanmar, North Korea, Russian Federation, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, Ukraine, and Yemen. So this page lists every other country as eligible, on the strength of that rule and not of anything this listing says. Requirements can still differ by role, so check the application page on micro1 before you apply.
micro1 lists 10 openings on this role.
Skills named: Physics, exact diagonalization with translation + reflection symmetries (QuSpin preferred) for L >= 26, subspace block-diagonalization, overlap with Z2 state analysis.
Applications are made on micro1, not here. WFA Digital is independent of micro1 and may receive a referral fee if you are hired, at no cost to you.

Role Title: Physics Expert (Condensed Matter / Quantum Information) Role Type: Contractor Location: Remote micro1 is engaging Physics Experts (Condensed Matter / Quantum Information) to contribute to a frontier research-level physics benchmark project focused on topics such as the PXP model, Rydberg blockade, quantum many-body scars, and constrained dynamics. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters. Scope of Work Develop and analyze exact diagonalization implementations leveraging translation and reflection symmetries, with a preference for QuSpin and system sizes L ≥ 26. Construct and manipulate block-diagonalized subspaces for complex quantum systems, optimizing computational efficiency and fidelity. Evaluate overlaps with Z2 states and interpret resulting physical insights in the context of constrained quantum dynamics. Contribute detailed written feedback, analytic reports, and assessments for research benchmarks related to quantum many-body scars and Rydberg blockade phenomena. Serve as a Solver, Auditor, or Adjudicator on the project, depending on subfield alignment, hands-on methods expertise, and seniority. Preferred Qualifications Advanced academic background (PhD or equivalent practical experience) in condensed matter physics, quantum information, or a closely related field. Proven expertise in exact diagonalization techniques, including experience with QuSpin and symmetries for large system sizes. Demonstrated ability to perform block-diagonalization of Hamiltonians and work within large Hilbert space subspaces. Strong understanding of quantum many-body scars, Rydberg blockade, and constrained quantum dynamics. Experience analyzing overlaps with Z2 or related quantum states, including the interpretation of numerical results.
