AI training contract
Physics Expert (Gravitation / Cosmology / Astrophysics)
Science & Research · USD 80-160 an hour. · 1 opening
Physics Expert (Gravitation / Cosmology / Astrophysics) is contract work for micro1, reviewing and correcting what AI models produce in science & research. The output of the job is expert judgement written down: a model gives an answer, someone who knows the subject decides whether it is right and explains why.
What it requires. This role is gated on phd or academic credential. Applications without it are not considered, and the requirement is stated here because the original advert usually carries it well below the rate.
What it pays. USD 80 to USD 160 an hour, as published by micro1. Rates in this category track how rare the credential is rather than how hard the work is.
Where. The listing says this role is remote and names no country. micro1 says it hires talent from around the world, except people who reside in Afghanistan, Belarus, China, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Hong Kong, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Macao, Myanmar, North Korea, Russian Federation, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, Ukraine, and Yemen. So this page lists every other country as eligible, on the strength of that rule and not of anything this listing says. Requirements can still differ by role, so check the application page on micro1 before you apply.
Skills named: Physics, first-order Palatini gravity, tetrad + spin connections, Pontryagin density, Friedmann ODEs with torsion, coupled nonlinear ODE integration, Planck-unit normalization.
Applications are made on micro1, not here. WFA Digital is independent of micro1 and may receive a referral fee if you are hired, at no cost to you.

Role Title: Physics Expert (Gravitation / Cosmology / Astrophysics) Role Type: Contractor Location: Remote micro1 is engaging Physics Experts (Gravitation / Cosmology / Astrophysics) to participate in an advanced, research-driven project for a valued customer. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters. This opportunity focuses on contributions to a frontier research-level physics benchmark spanning Dynamical Chern-Simons gravity, the Palatini tetrad formalism, FRW cosmology, quadratic inflation, and related phenomena. Based on your expertise, you may be considered for specialized assignments such as Solver, Auditor, or Adjudicator, with specific scopes and deliverables aligned to your subfield experience. Scope of Work Provide detailed analytical and numerical solutions to problems involving Palatini gravity (first-order formalism), including tetrad and spin connection approaches. Calculate and analyze Pontryagin density contributions and their implications in extended gravity theories. Formulate, solve, and interpret Friedmann ODEs with torsion and their relevance in cosmological models. Integrate coupled, nonlinear ODEs using advanced methods and critically evaluate results. Apply Planck-unit normalization in all theoretical and computational tasks to ensure consistency and comparability. Preferred Qualifications Advanced academic background (PhD or equivalent) in physics, with emphasis on gravitation, cosmology, or astrophysics. Hands-on experience working with first-order Palatini gravity, tetrad and spin connection formalisms, and higher-order curvature corrections. Proven ability to derive, solve, and interpret nonlinear ODE systems relevant to cosmology and gravitational physics. Familiarity with Pontryagin density, Chern-Simons modifications, and their physical implications. Demonstrated experience with Planck-unit normalization and physical interpretation in theoretical models.
