Account Executive
Job Description
ABOUT NEXUS You don't have an AI story if you don't have your data story. That's where NexusOne comes in. We're the converged data platform for the AI era — composable by design, built on an open-source foundation, and AI-native from the ground up. One identity, one governance envelope, one operational layer across every mainframe, data lake, warehouse, and streaming system in the business. For the first time, enterprises can bring their existing stack along instead of rebuilding it — and still give AI agents full context across the estate. What we stand for is simple: sovereign data, interoperable systems, decoupled intelligence — delivered the way modern software should be. No rip-and-replace. No multi-year transformation. Our CEO Anu Jain puts it well: we turn the "ball of yarn" of data integrations into a unified engine — less like assembling car parts, more like buying the car ready to drive. 85+ open-source tools pre-integrated. AI-native automations that deploy and self-heal the stack without human toil. Forward-deployed engineers who build shoulder-to-shoulder with customer teams — hands on keyboards, not just on decks. It's working, and fast. We're tripling revenue year over year, backed by Insight Partners, and running in production in environments most vendors won't touch. Our platform processes credit risk data for 90%+ of US small businesses — 40M+ — every month. Intent signals for 300M+ subscribers monthly for Africa's largest telco. The data and AI layer for a Top 3 US bank. We're 100+ people across the US and India, headquartered in Atlanta. We think big, move fast, and don't mistake activity for progress. We hire people who'd rather ship the rocket than brief someone on it. Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven record of accomplishment of at least 5 years in enterprise sales, with a focus on selling complex technology solutions, preferably in the Data and AI sector.
- Demonstrated success in consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and quotas.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to grasp technical concepts related to Data and AI.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, conferences, and industry events.
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.
How to Stand Out
- Highlight a recent sales pipeline you built and managed in HubSpot and Salesforce (e.g., “Closed $1.2M ARR in 6 months by syncing lead scores from HubSpot to Salesforce”). Bring a one‑page dashboard screenshot showing the workflow, conversion rates, and ROI to discuss during the interview.
- Prepare a short (3‑5 minute) Excel case study that demonstrates complex deal forecasting: use pivot tables, Power Query, and conditional formatting to model a multi‑year quota plan for a SaaS product similar to NexusOne. Share the file in a pre‑interview email and reference it when answering “How do you predict revenue?”
- Research NexusOne’s data‑platform stack (open‑source, composable architecture, AI‑native). In your cover letter and interview, cite a concrete example of how you sold a technical solution that integrated with existing data lakes or mainframes without a full rip‑and‑replace—showing you understand the “no‑rebuild” value proposition.
- Assemble a “sales playbook” portfolio PDF that includes: (1) prospecting email sequences tailored to C‑level data‑governance buyers, (2) a demo‑demo script that aligns NexusOne’s sovereign‑data messaging with ROI metrics, and (3) a post‑meeting recap template. Send it to the recruiter a day before the interview to demonstrate preparation.
- During the interview, ask targeted questions that reveal the company’s sales cycle length, average deal size, and quota‑to‑compensation ratio (e.g., “What proportion of the quota is base vs. variable for an AE in the US remote team?”). Use the answers to negotiate a base salary ≥ $90K plus a commission structure that reflects the $1.2M‑plus pipeline you showcased.
- Leverage LinkedIn to secure a short informational call with a current Nexus AE or a member of the data‑platform product team. Bring a one‑sentence “value‑add” note from that conversation (e.g., “I learned the team prioritizes demos that illustrate cross‑system data lineage”) and reference it in your interview to prove cultural fit and network initiative.
