How to Stand Out
- Highlight your Excel expertise with a one‑page “Sales Dashboard” sample: build a mock regional pipeline (leads, stages, forecast) using pivot tables, slicers, and conditional formatting, then attach the file or share a short video walkthrough in your application to prove you can analyze and present data remotely.
- Demonstrate remote prospecting success by quantifying results from any virtual outreach you’ve done (e.g., “Generated 45 qualified leads in 3 months via LinkedIn Sales Navigator and cold‑email sequences, achieving a 28% conversion to meetings”). Include these numbers in your cover letter and be ready to discuss the tools and cadence you used.
- Prepare a concise “Mid‑Atlantic Market Playbook” for the interview: research the top 5 packaging automation buyers in PA, NJ, MD, and VA, note their current equipment, pain points, and propose a tailored value‑prop. Bring a PDF or share a Google Slides deck to show you’ve already mapped the territory.
- Emphasize your remote‑first collaboration skills: cite specific examples of coordinating with engineering, logistics, or service teams across time zones using Zoom, Teams, and shared Excel workbooks, and describe how you kept projects on schedule without onsite meetings.
- Anticipate the “problem‑solver” angle by preparing a STAR story where you turned a stalled deal into a closed sale by diagnosing a technical bottleneck (e.g., mismatched automation specs) and proposing a custom solution—focus on metrics like cycle‑time reduction and ROI for the client.
- When discussing compensation, reference ProMach’s 2023 regional sales average (≈$115k base + OTE) and position your ask based on proven remote sales productivity (e.g., “My 2022 quota attainment was 132% with a $150k OTE while working 100% remotely”). Be ready to negotiate a flexible bonus tied to new‑product adoption in the Mid‑Atlantic market.
