Paperock is a legal consulting firm. We work closely with founders and operators in areas such as AI, SaaS,

fintech, HR tech, and generally IP-driven companies, focusing on market entry or expansion in key aspects like IP protection, corporate structuring, market expansion, and transactions.

Role Description

This is a contract-based, remote position for a Legal Associate located in Lagos State, Nigeria. The Legal Associate will be responsible for preparing legal opinions, negotiating contracts and policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and addressing legal issues related to intellectual property, data protection and AML compliance. This role requires working closely with AI and Fintech companies (especially stablecoin/crypto/web3), providing legal advice, and conducting thorough research to support the their objectives and protect their interests.

What we're looking for:

Strong fintech (stablecoins/crypo/web3) and AI experience; Excellent contract drafting and review skills; Solid understanding of regulatory compliance and corporate governance; Ability to translate legal risk into practical business advice; Confident client-facing presence; Highly organized, proactive, and able to work independently; and

• At least 3 years' post-call experience.

Experience working with startups or growing businesses is a strong advantage.
