How to Stand Out
- Highlight ServiceNow certifications (e.g., Certified Application Developer, Implementation Specialist) prominently on your resume and include the exact certificate numbers; Dev Talent Network’s recruiters filter candidates by these IDs in their ATS.
- Build a one‑page “ServiceNow Impact Dashboard” in Excel that visualizes a recent project’s KPIs (e.g., incident reduction, SLA compliance, automation ROI). Attach the file to your application and reference it in your cover letter to demonstrate the Excel skill they list.
- Create a short (3‑minute) video walkthrough of a ServiceNow solution you built—show the design in Studio, a live demo of a workflow, and the data export to Excel. Upload it to a private YouTube link and add the URL to the “Portfolio” section of your Dev Talent Network profile; interviewers often review these videos before the technical screen.
- When preparing for the technical interview, practice answering scenario‑based questions that tie ServiceNow scripting to data analysis in Excel (e.g., “How would you pull incident data via a Script Include and populate a pivot table for monthly reporting?”). Write out a concise STAR story for each and rehearse aloud.
- Research Dev Technology’s recent ServiceNow releases (e.g., Toronto, Vancouver) and be ready to discuss how you would leverage new features—especially the IntegrationHub Excel connector—to streamline reporting for remote teams. Mention this in your cover letter to show company‑specific knowledge.
- Before salary discussions, use Glassdoor and Levels.fyi to benchmark the median total compensation for Mid‑Level and Senior ServiceNow Developers at remote‑first firms. Prepare a 2‑page compensation matrix that aligns your certifications, years of experience, and proven ROI (e.g., $X saved per year) with the market data, and present it confidently during the final interview.
