Premium Creator Account Manager
Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE Playbook works with a group of high-value, long-tenured creators whose relationships predate our current processes. These accounts are complex, trust-based, and critical to the business. We need someone to own them fully — a right hand who will be trained deeply, knows every nuance, and can manage these creators at the highest level without needing to be told twice. This is a grind-it-out, detail-obsessed role. The right person loves being in the weeds, has no conflicting priorities, and is fully committed to this creator cohort. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Be the right hand to our Head of Creator Management - you will be trained by them, work with them to optimize workflows and build relationships with their portfolio of creators.
- Long term - manage a focused portfolio of legacy, high-touch creators who require a personalized, relationship-first approach - Serve as the primary point of contact for these creators — handle inbound, proactively reach out, and anticipate their needs - Shadow and be trained directly by the current relationship owner; absorb every nuance of these accounts - Coordinate with internal teams (product, marketing, ops) on behalf of these creators - Maintain detailed records of relationship history, preferences, and ongoing commitments - Flag risks, blockers, or opportunities early — nothing should fall through the cracks WHO YOU ARE - You are expected to be an expert on growing creator business - Someone who is deeply immersed in the creator space and confident in creator monetization strategies - Obsessively organized and reliable — you follow up, follow through, and don't let things slip - A relationship-builder at heart — you enjoy getting to know people deeply and being genuinely useful to them - Comfortable with ambiguity and able to operate independently once trained - you are a driver - Someone who finds satisfaction in execution and relationship management - Previous experience in account management, creator management, talent management, or a similar client-facing role WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS These creator relationships represent significant revenue and brand trust for Playbook.
How to Stand Out
- Show deep familiarity with creator‑centric CRMs and workflow tools: In your resume and interview, list specific platforms you’ve mastered (e.g., HubSpot/Zoho for creator contracts, Asana or Notion for pipeline tracking, and Airtable for creator metadata). Bring a short screen‑recorded walkthrough (2‑3 min) of a dashboard you built that surfaces creator health metrics, renewal dates, and revenue trends—Playbook will see you can hit the ground running.
- Create a “legacy creator case study”: Draft a one‑page PDF that outlines a real‑world scenario where you took ownership of a long‑tenured, high‑value partner (e.g., a YouTube MCN or TikTok influencer). Include the problem, your step‑by‑step workflow (showing communication cadence, contract negotiation, and performance reporting), the quantitative results (e.g., +18 % revenue, 95 % renewal rate), and the tools you used. Attach this as a portfolio piece and reference it when asked about “being in the weeds.”
- Demonstrate relentless detail‑obsession during the interview: Prepare a 5‑minute live demo of how you audit a creator’s performance sheet for errors (duplicate rows, mismatched payout codes, etc.). Highlight your method for flagging inconsistencies, documenting them in a shared Google Sheet, and communicating the fix to both the creator and internal finance. Interviewers will watch for systematic rigor and the ability to “not need to be told twice.”
- Align your personal priorities with Playbook’s “no conflicting priorities” ethos: In the “Tell me about yourself” segment, explicitly state that you are seeking a single focused portfolio of legacy creators and that you have no concurrent client load or side gigs. Mention any remote‑work policies you’ve already adopted (dedicated home office, fixed schedule, async‑first communication) to prove you can give this cohort undivided attention.
- Negotiate with data on creator‑account compensation: Research salaries for senior account managers handling high‑value creator portfolios (e.g., 2024 Glassdoor/Levels.fyi ranges $110‑$150 k base + 10‑15 % performance bonus). Prepare a concise spreadsheet that maps your years of experience, relevant creator revenue you’ve managed, and the market median. When the offer comes, reference this sheet to justify a base + bonus structure that reflects the “grind‑it‑out” responsibility and remote‑work cost‑of‑living adjustments.
