LastPass is looking for Senior Backend Engineer (.NET):
In this role, you will evolve the commerce and payment platforms powering LastPass subscriptions. At this career level, you will modernize services and deliver reliable payment integrations — helping LastPass deliver on its mission to give everyone seamless access to everything they need to work, move fast, and stay protected.
About the team:
The Commerce engineering team sits at the heart of LastPass’s global commerce infrastructure. The team architects, scales, and maintains the backend platforms that drive e-commerce, billing, and payment processing. Working primarily in .NET, the team owns the critical systems that keep LastPass subscriptions running reliably for customers worldwide.

Who will you work with?
You will work closely with fellow .NET engineers, SDETs, QA engineers, database developers, and engineering leaders to design, build, test, and support reliable commerce and payment services. You will also partner with teams across Product, Finance, Data, and Operations to deliver secure and seamless payment experiences for LastPass customers globally.
What are some of the exciting challenges you will be working on?
- Design and implement scalable .NET services and REST APIs that power commerce and payment capabilities for LastPass customers worldwide
- Deliver payment gateway integrations and regional payment method support, expanding reach and reliability for LastPass subscribers
- Contribute to planning, design, and feature delivery in close collaboration with a cross-functional engineering team
- Advocate for non-functional requirements and cost-effective solutions, developing, testing, and maintaining services within your domain
- Collaborate across teams, engage in technical decision-making, and help influence the platform’s architectural direction
- Coach and mentor engineers at various levels, raising the bar for engineering quality and team capability
- Contribute to a customer-facing application, shaping it with new features that meet evolving user needs and business objectives
What does it take to work at LastPass?
- Proven experience in C# and .NET Core for web application development
- Proven experience in REST API design, creation, and consumption
- Proven experience with relational databases and Entity Framework Core
- Solid grounding in OOP best practices, containerisation with Docker, and web security principles
- Proven experience designing and operating microservice architectures
- Recognised internally as a clear and confident communicator, able to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders with equal ease
- Approaches complex challenges with a team-first mindset, bringing creative problem-solving and consistent follow-through
It's great, but not required:
- Ability to create architecture, explain it, and create ADR/RFC documentation
- Experience with commerce systems and various payment providers
- Knowledge of Zuora development
- Experience with AWS, including Secrets Manager (or another cloud provider), and background services
- Foundational knowledge of Angular
