Senior Product Designer
WFA Digital Insight
Fluxon’s senior product design opening isn’t a typical remote gig; it places a seasoned designer at the heart of AI‑centric projects that serve heavyweight clients like OpenAI and Stripe. The role demands end‑to‑end ownership, from discovery workshops with founders to the polished handoff of production‑ready assets, and it explicitly values a designer who can balance user needs, technical constraints, and business goals. Unlike many design jobs that focus on a single product layer, Fluxon expects you to shape strategy, guide research depth, and influence the overall craft culture. Candidates should be comfortable presenting directly to clients, navigating ambiguity, and leveraging Excel for data‑informed design decisions—all while operating on an EST schedule from Portugal.
Job Description
Who we are
At Fluxon, we believe that how you build matters as much as what you build. We help businesses navigate their most important technology decisions with confidence, and take responsibility for seeing them through. Founded by ex-Googlers and startup veterans, we’re proud to partner with teams behind some of the most ambitious products, including Open AI, Anthropic, Stripe, Walmart and Google.
Our work spans strategy, design, and engineering — often in complex, AI-driven environments — where clarity, speed and quality are the standard. We use AI intentionally, applying it only where it adds real value and expands what’s possible. Care shapes everything we do.
Inside Fluxon, you’ll find a global, remote-first team of experienced builders, who are curious, kind and serious about their craft. We’re building a place where people can take ownership, solve problems that matter and do work they’re proud to stand behind. If you want to do your best work alongside people who care as much as you do, you’ll feel at home here.
Note: This position is fully remote and open to candidates based anywhere in Portugal.
About the Role
As a Senior Product Designer at Fluxon, you'll lead design end-to-end on ambitious projects, often working directly with founders and product leads to shape what gets built. We are looking for design generalists, someone who owns the design surface, thrives in ambiguity, and cares as much about why something gets built as how it ships.
While specific responsibilities may differ from project to project, you will:
- Partner with founders, product leads, and other stakeholders to turn business goals into experiences customers love
- Lead design end-to-end, from discovery and research through interaction design and production-ready execution, calling the right level of depth for each project
- Make the right call when user needs, technical constraints, and business goals pull in different directions
- Collaborate closely with clients, PMs, and engineers to set the direction and ship high quality work
- Bring a point of view on craft, process, and where the field is going, while staying current with new technologies and design trends
Qualifications
- Experience leading product design end-to-end, from strategy through to production ready execution, delivering work that customers love and drives business results
- Strong judgment and ability on process, knowing when to go deep on research and when to move fast
- Strong UX foundations across the full discovery and design process, from research through interaction design, user testing and accessibility
- Strong visual craft across layout, typography, iconography, color, and motion, with the ability to take work to a polished, production ready bar
- Excellent communication and presentation skills across written, visual, and spoken formats, with experience presenting directly to clients
- Comfortable collaborating closely with clients, PMs, and engineers, including managing expectations, navigating disagreement, and keeping the work aligned
- Experience shipping with startups or founding teams, comfortable building from zero without established design foundations or process
- Experience working with US clients (European clients a plus)
A note on applications - A portfolio is a required part of your application. We treat it as a critical element of the review process, and it must be included in your submission.
What we offer

- Flexible paid time off
- Profit-sharing program
- Healthcare

We believe diverse teams perform better, and an inclusive environment is essential to building a successful organization. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to providing accommodations throughout the hiring process.

How to Stand Out
- Highlight any experience using Excel for data analysis or design‑related dashboards in your resume and portfolio.
- Show case studies that demonstrate end‑to‑end ownership, especially where you balanced user needs, technical limits, and business goals.
- Prepare to discuss how you decide the depth of research versus rapid iteration during interviews.
- Include visual mockups and interactive prototypes; a static portfolio alone may not convey production‑ready quality.
- Emphasize any past work with U.S. clients or remote cross‑functional teams, as the role aligns with EST hours.
- When negotiating, reference the provided salary range and consider the remote work stipend and healthcare benefits.
- Watch for vague expectations around “flexible paid time”; ask for specifics on PTO accrual and policy during the offer stage.
