This role sits at the intersection of pre-sales engineering, product strategy, and enterprise architecture. How to Stand Out
- Build a mini‑case study showing how you used Excel to model a go‑to‑market (GTM) forecast for a conversational‑AI rollout (e.g., projected ARR, adoption curve, churn). Include the actual spreadsheet (or screenshots) in your portfolio and be ready to walk interviewers through the assumptions, formulas, and visualizations you used.
- Demonstrate familiarity with Decagon’s platform by creating a short (2‑3 min) demo video: integrate a public API (e.g., OpenAI or a sample chatbot) into a mock “customer‑service” flow, then map each step to a GTM metric (lead generation, conversion, NPS). Highlight how you’d position this solution to a target vertical like fintech or health‑tech.
- Tailor your resume to the “Strategic Solutions Engineer” language: list concrete achievements such as “Designed GTM playbook that accelerated AI‑agent adoption by 42 % for a $5 M SaaS client” and quantify outcomes with numbers (%, $). Use keywords from the job posting—GTM, Excel, solution architecture, ROI analysis.
- Prepare for scenario‑based interview questions that probe cross‑functional collaboration: rehearse a story where you partnered with product, sales, and engineering remotely to launch an AI‑driven feature, describing communication tools (Slack, Asana, Miro), decision‑making cadence, and how you kept stakeholders aligned across time zones.
- Research Decagon’s recent funding rounds and flagship customers (e.g., Cash App, Oura). In your interview, reference a specific challenge those brands face (e.g., scaling SMS support) and propose a concise GTM strategy that leverages Decagon’s AI agents, backing it with an Excel‑driven ROI model. This shows market awareness and proactive thinking.
- When discussing compensation, cite market data for remote Strategic Solutions Engineers in the AI SaaS space (e.g., base $130‑150 k + 15‑20 % bonus, equity grants). Frame your ask around the value you’ll deliver—e.g., “Based on my track record of driving $10 M ARR in new verticals, I target a total compensation package of $180 k to align incentives with Decagon’s growth goals.”
